What beer are you drinking now? #1913

Good morning BA, have a great Monday! Got the day off work, don't have much to do. Already took care of my usual errands yesterday as usual. Should be a relaxing day. Might do some banking though. Was up all night watch James Bond again. Will continue that marathon into this afternoon.

Excellent English winter warmer! Have not had this in a while. Big flavors of raisin, plum, fig, cherry, pear, apple, caramel, brown sugar, molasses, toasted biscuit, and light nutty/roast maltiness; with moderate herbal, floral, pepper, piney hop notes; with a bit of yeasty earthiness. Moderate pine/spicy bitterness; with a very smooth finish with balanced bready creaminess and hop stickiness in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Just all around great complexity and balance of yeast, malt, and hop flavors. Glad I grabbed a 6 pack. This ages amazingly too. English strong ales are underrated. I will seek out another pack.


Incredible as usual this year. Flavors of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, apricot, mango, lemon/orange peel, and pine hops; with moderate honey/bready malt sweetness; and floral/grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus rind, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium-full bodied; with balanced creamy/slick malts and sticky/resinous/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing resin/rind dryness, no hop astringency. Not overly sweet or bitter, extremely well balanced. Lightly boozy alcohol, but dangerously easy drinking. Never disappoints. Need to seek out a second 6 pack.

This was excellent! Fantastic lasting head retention and thick lacing on the glass. Aromas and flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pepper, and pine hops; with moderate wheat, cracker, white bread dough, light honeyed malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus peel, herbal, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; balanced bready/grainy malt and sticky/resinous hops in the mouthfeel. Fairly crisp/clean finishing. Moderate increasing bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Super drinkable for 8%, and surprisingly light on body. Glad I got a 6 pack. This is an old school feeling DIPA with dank, earthy, and vibrant classic C hops; with just enough pale malt to balance the bitterness. Never overly aggressive. A bit vegetal/green peppery on the hops, but I loved it. 4.08


12% BBA strong ale from Half Acre. This was great! Aromas and flavors of big raisin, prune, cherry, fig, date, caramel, toffee, brown sugar, molasses, brown bread, bourbon, vanilla, coconut, toasted oak, and biscuit; with lighter notes of chocolate, cocoa, leather, tobacco, pepper, char, and smoke. Light bourbon/oak tannin spiciness against sweetness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and medium-plus body; balanced creamy/silky malt and oak tannins in the mouthfeel; slightly sticky/chalky roast. Light-moderate increasing bourbon/oak tannin spiciness; no cloying/astringency. Very smooth sipper, minimal warming 12%, no barrel booze. Definitely a unique brew, imperial brown ale on style character. Surprisingly light on body for the ABV, finish is fairly clean. Great well rounded dark/bready malt complexity, with spot on Heaven Hill barrel integration. Never boozy or harsh on barrel tannins. Delicious! 4
