Remember, thefullpint.com should have a comprehensive list of other release locations and dates in the next couple of weeks.

so Pliny the Younger is still HYPE!?
I've havent had it yet in my craft beer career but I heard from a couple of different people that ,PTY is all hype. is this so!?

Contrary to popular belief Pliny the Younger is still a beer, not a hype.

Every beer is evolved around hype really. Worth getting a pour though.

I still prefer Pliny the Toddler.

Overhyped, Pliny the Dotard is much better.

It’s a good tipa. But there are others out there that’s better. But if you’ve never had it then you should check it out. :stuck_out_tongue:

FWIW, your YMMV, there's been years where its been spectacular for my palate and preferences and batches where I've wondered why I wasted my time that particular day. When it's uber dry and crazy smooth for 10+% I've really enjoyed it. Years where some malt sweetness poked through, less so. I try, though not with special exertion, to get a pour every year. Guess the take home message is that, much like other beers, I think more than one data point is needed for a true assessment.

PTY is not unique in this respect, there's been times where I've been "Holy Sh!t!" this glass of Notorious is killing it, and times where it's been far too sweet for my liking. Carry on

Might have posted this last year too. When I was at the brewery last year for younger, I just used one of my tickets, and passed on the other two. They had a glass of sweet liquid love called compunction on draft that blew me away. Give it a look up. Doesn't come around too often i'm guessing. Maybe just around younger time, but it was MAGICAL sour.

Weird, that’s the last time and place that I had it also. RR week 2013. Elder, Younger and Compunction (among others). Compunction is a beautiful beer. A real treat. Then stopped by Societe for growler fills of OG The Pupil on my way back home.

I will say that I go with a few less-beer-focused friends every year to one of the PtY keg events, and it is quite possibly my favorite beer event of the year. Is PtY the greatest TIPA I will have this year? Probably not. But it is a great experience, and I wouldn't give it up for a keg of Tree House.

It's a study in old-school popular beers. It's still good, but there's been a sea change in palates overall. Like I said, I still really like it.

Gonna do my usual and donate some money to Beachwood's charity. We usually get a pour, and it's a good time as any to donate.

Beachwood's Pliny drive is a real class act. They could make some good money off that beer, bit instead they donate it. I always buy one ticket

Anyone know if the to-go-only line will still exist during PTY week at the brewpub? Don't care much for 8 hours of waiting for a pour, but am driving back to the South Bay from wine country on the 4th and wouldn't mind grabbing a growler of Blind Pig for the super bowl.
