Good morning BAs! Going to blow last night's four inches of snow from my driveway, now that most of my neighbors are out of bed. But first, today's New Breakfast Beer, courtesy of @Dragginballs76 and NBS BIF #6:

Cheers you all! This is a clone of focal banger. OH MY STARZ! More gimme more! How many foods can I pair with this beer? Well baked eggs with fresh oregano, parsley and tomatoes, sausage stuffed twice baked poatoes, green tea soba noodles , steamed cod and oyster sauce with ginger and mango, as well as cold green tea soba with colorful peppers and fiery red tokyo shrimp! Thank you @JackHorzempa and this beer makes me want to drink more beer!

    Ima get started.

This is the first pour of the beer. [IMG]

This is me admiring the beer.

If you have ever heard someone in beer say leave the yeast in the bottle and pour it out separately if the customer wants it; this is what they mean. Here is the beer without the dregs and then the dregs. Taste the yeast if you want to learn to taste beer.

Well, Hell, it's coming down. Mid afternoon yesterday it was 52 degrees and bright sunshine when we received two emails in succession. One was from the University announcing classes are cancelled tomorrow due to snow and the second was from my choir director saying he would keep tomorrow's rehearsal on the schedule but encouraged us to stay home if the ground was slippery. Good advise because it's a retired men's chorus and none of us have any business trying to walk on ice. We'll wait and see, I thought, and it was clear when I took the dogs out early this morning. Cold though and the temp was falling. So I waited and before getting ready glanced out the window and ack, it's only been snowing for a few minutes and the ground is already white. Oh, well . . .

Dark brown black color with red gold highlights and small tan cap.

Aroma of roasted malt with a subdued coffee influence.

Taste on entry is roasted malt. Coffee is present in a secondary role along with a bit of cocoa. There is almost a vanilla influence without a vanilla flavor, or that's at least as close as I can call it. Coffee does build as things go along and is the main flavor in the aftertaste.

Medium texture with an almost creamy aspect that's nice.

Overall another example of Sam Adams' proclivity to add a flavor influence (in this case coffee) that really doesn't come across as too powerful to put off a broad range of customers.

Gotta admit, I like the bear.

    Piraat Special Reserve.
This Piraat is aged in Rum Barrels. Probably the only proper barrels for a beer with a name like this.
