Its the same location as they've been using for at least the past couple months. They used to just set up a table in the brewhouse but have been doing some construction in there so have been releasing in the warehouse they acquired at the end of the block.

I'm sure they have good business reasons for selling from the warehouse instead of the old brewery area or taproom, but I have to say, first time I bought cans from the warehouse felt, weird? different? And I still feel that way every time I go. I'm not sure how to classify it, and maybe it's just me, but I feel like the vibe of the warehouse is just odd for customers.

It's just a matter of efficiency. The larger warehouse space allows for more tables, more tables allows for more turnover, which means the line moves faster.

    You missed "ergo" in there

My dumb brain still hasn't fully adjusted to the idea that the line is shifted now so the old checkpoints I had in my head are all different.

Although its strange for those of us that were so used to the old way, I really do love the new set up. The warehouse is so much more convenient for people to get their cans and load up their cooler or whatver off to the side. Its also so nice being able to go enjoy the taproom on a release day.

    Can we add:

    1. World Class
    2. Anything but the correct spelling of palate (I'm no grammar po-po, but I find it incredibly hard to give any credibility to someone who's "palette" can detect the brightness of the Citra, followed by the burst of Mosaic, ending with the caress of Galaxy, over the course of a mouthful of Mylar Daydream)

So I think Cellarmaker and Alvarado Street might have Other Half beat in terms of ridiculous merch, they're selling a toaster today that toasts 'Hops to the Dome' onto your bread. I wonder if there will be any ridiculous stuff from Other Half for their 4th Anniversary.

One of these day we'll get a beer named All Proper Everything, which will come with branded tekus, sniffers, mugs, t-shirts, socks, hats, beach towels, a pillowcase, sneakers, underwear, condoms, a set of dumbbells (so you can get buff to lift extra cases), a foldable chair (for waiting in line), a baby stroller, and a calculator (so you can easily determine how much you just spent).

Well guess there is no midweek DDH Citra + Galaxy, cue discussion about how OH hates their local customers.

Kind of curious as to the end game for these upstate releases, not like OH can’t move these cans/kegs locally. It must eat at their profits a little to transport the cans. What’s the point? And no, I don’t buy “we want to get these cans into more hands”.

Patchogue is on Long Island. Maybe next we'll see a Paramus release. Bring the goods directly to the real fans.

Edit: Ah, I see you were referencing the Rochester one. Missed that.

So if they can so much more now why don’t they try to have a few flagships in house at all times? Maybe they just like brewing different stuff all the time? Any info. I’m just curious since they keep doing all these mobile sales.

A good portion (if not majority) of their can buyers come from outside the five boroughs. Makes sense for Other Half to cater to that "other half" of customers, on occasion, via these mobile releases and tap takeovers. I'm sure the bars they takeover pay them a premium too.

I get tap-takeovers, but can sales do confuse me. They sell every single can they make at the brewery, no issue. Even if they get 100% of the can sales at an off-site, they still need to transport it. Will people learn about, and then become a future customer of Other Half from a can release somewhere else? Maybe.

What's going to be interesting is that this can release is most likely going to coincide with the 4th Anniversary can release. Is anyone who is willing to go to Patchogue at 10am not willing to drive to Brooklyn for a one-time only release? Maybe this means the 4th Anniversary release will be on the 3rd?

Drinking DDH Hop Showers w/Vic Secret. A little softer than fresh but I think I preferred it a little more intense. Still wonderful, though.

Figures. OH finally does a can release close to where I live, providing me the opportunity to finally try their beer, and I'll be out east and won't get back to Patchogue until late afternoon. Pretty sure there won't be any cans left by then. That Citra + Galaxy sure sounds good.
