Why not just have it be a new beer? Konkey was 8%, while this variant is 9.5% and now a "triple" IPA. Also new hopping rates/timings, so the beer is completely different IMO.

Ran out of new names I suppose. Soon Musk will be a triple IPA as well with lactose and fruit

Perhaps someone can share their tried and true method of getting tickets. Phone type Workstation? Browser? App? Click the purchase ticket with your left hand?

 

It would definitely be strange to have the same HH beer look and taste different than previous batches.

 

Hearing this is in prep for Hunahpu's Day. Any indication it will be available in Ohio too?

 

Hmmm...let’s see if history has any insight.

Hoof tells Fat Head’s they don’t have enough beer to participate in their Festival of the Hop then pours at Shelton Bros fest a few weeks later. They don’t participate in OCBA events like Winter Warmer but send beer to Hunahpu’s day and WakeFest.

That’s fine, their beer, choice, but I think it’s apparent where their priorities are. Ohio consistently gets trumped by “exposure”. Gotta keep stoking the fire so the hollow hoof hearted hype train keeps moving down the track.

 

I feel like they really could have gotten bigger much faster, but somewhere along the line they just fell off and decided to settle into the habits they set for themselves three (?) years ago.

I'm just surprised after all these years how little beer they actually brew. I guess the brewpub keeps beer flowing but most or all of that is coming from that premises I'd assume. The brewery in Marengo...what do they have, two brew days every third week? I don't get it, sure seems like they're having a good time though.

 

slow work on expanding, but honestly before they do they need to dial it back in. Last few beers after dragon saddle were sub par for them. this from a huge fan who shows up early. haven't opened a key bump yet tho.

and they must have read your post, they aren't skipping a week for the next release. dork and best fweindz on the 28th.

 

I'm contemplating purchasing tickets for the can release on the 28th however, have never been to Hoof before. How are their can releases ran?

 

1. Good luck on tickets.
2. Get there before 11:30 or after 1 if you want to be in/out
3. Get there anytime if you have some time to relax, enjoy some drafts, bottle shares, and food truck food.

 

show up and stand in line. they have 2 lines, one for cans only, one where you can also get a growler fill (one per person), and drafts. the above post has it nailed, but even after 1 line can be long at times. Especially if they sell glasses....

 

I showed up at about 1:40 yesterday, in and out of the Can Only line in less than 5 minutes. It was awesome.

 

I set up a trade for some cans of Key Bump from yesterday... Has anyone tried it yet??? thoughts?

 

Was great on draft. Haven't had any of my cans yet, but I usually prefer the cans a lot more than the drafts there, so...

 

It was good on draft. I’ll secknd the opinion above that most hoof is better from the can and usually better after a week as well.

 

Appreciate the heads up and recommendations. I figured it would be difficult to get tickets, but might as well try anyways. Cheers!

 

agree 100% it's fantastic! I give the edge to Key Bump over Dragonsaddle...
