Good morning BA, have a great Saturday! Supposed to warm up a bit today, so should be a nice day. Plan on making a beer run later on, been a while since I did so.

Probably have not had a fresh expedition in 6 years. This is amazing! Aromas and flavors of huge dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toffee, molasses, smoke, charcoal, licorice, raisin, prune, vanilla, toasted biscuit, herbal, wood, tobacco, and peppery/piney hops. Moderate roast/char and woody/peppery/piney hop bitterness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and full body; with a very creamy, silky, velvety, and rich mouthfeel. Some slickness, chalky roast, and sticky hop resin. Increasing hop/char bitter dryness, minimal acrid/astringency. Very smooth sipper, minimal warming ABV. As expected it is quite intense and aggressive; but the perfect example of a RIS style. I usually like it after 2 years the best, but it is still amazing me now. One of the best of all time.

Incredible as always. Flavors of huge grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berry, lemon zest, orange peel, and light pepper/pine hops; with wheat, biscuit, white bread dough, light honey malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Very mild pine, grassy, citrus peel bitterness on the finish. Medium-full bodied; bready/grainy wheat/oat creaminess and light hop stickiness in the mouthfeel. Slightly increasing bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Very dank and juicy hops, with perfect malt balance. Never overly sweet/heavy. Super easy drinking. Glad to have this as a year round available beer. They stopped making Boxer for some reason, but it will be back soon under some other name. It's amazing how many outstanding local NEIPAs we have now, I have plenty of favorites that I rotate through. And it all happened in a single year's time. This one has been seeing batch improvements since I first had it earlier last year. This one is tasting exceptionally soft on the mouthfeel than the first few batches. Definitely need to get another pack, just finished off another one. Got a fresh batch of Boss Tweed this week as well.

4 year revisit. This is excellent! Aromas and flavors of lightly tart red/black cherry, raspberry, raisin, plum, red/green apple, red grape, pepper, and clove yeast; with balanced dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toasted dark bread, and light nutty malts; with light musty funk and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate peppery yeast spiciness, herbal/roast bitterness, and slight tartness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; nice creamy/bready/grainy malt mouthfeel; light stickiness, chalky roast, and acidity. Lightly increasing tart/spicy yeast dryness; no astringency or acrid roast. Very smooth sipping, minimal warming 9.5%. Enjoy it just as much as I remember, but this feels like a completely different beer. I remember more lactic/vinegary notes in Oct 2013, this is just straight up Brett with balanced imperial stout flavors. Nothing to complain about, but that fact is noteworthy. 4

Amazing English barleywine! Aromas and flavors of big raisin, plum, cherry, fig, date, apricot, red apple, caramel, vanilla, toffee, brown sugar, brown bread, bourbon, and toasted oak; with light coconut, leather, herbal/peppery hops, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate herbal hop and bourbon/oak spiciness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full body; very creamy/bready malt mouthfeel; lightly slick, syrupy, sticky, and tannic. Slightly increasing woody/tannin dryness; no cloying or astringency. Very smooth sipper, zero warming 12.5%. English Barelywines are my favorite style, and this nails it. Perfect balance of fruity yeast and dark/bready malts; with amazing barrel integration and balancing earthy hops. Glad these are in cans now, far more easily available around here now. Worth the price.

    NICE !!!!
These 12 abv tasty morning porters are a great way to start or end a day .
They are way better than any otc medication

I like the coffee cup, but mostly because it’s so early and my wife and kids just think I’m having coffee and not a powerhouse brew first thing in the morning .. LOL

Plus my wife broke my favorite La Chouffe snifter the other day (crying)..
I told her she never has to worry about washing another one of my glasses as I’ll hand wash them every time from now on upon using one . Of course to them it’s just a glass and no big deal :slight_frown:

Anyways we just moved and it will be awhile until I dig out all of my glassware and other stuff. Luckily in my business I find a lot of glassware , so hopefully another La Chouffe will appear . I can’t beieve some of the glasses I left behind in recent months . Stupid , as I could have just bought them and given them to friends .

Anyways ENJOY THAT TASTY HI WESTIE VAS

Chi town is the bomb . I’ve only been there once , but it was for 10 days and I had an unbelievable time . It was a long time ago now, but my cousin lived there and prior to business I was able to have her take me around to some great places . Best place was some side alley juke joint that had some big ole girl wailing the blues . Great time
Only thing I regret, I was supposed to go to Wrigley the last Sunday before heading home on my flight . Stupid me got so hungover the night before that my head was basically on the concrete and I had to pass on the game . Ughh

Great city .. great food .. great beer .. great music .. Fantastic experience !!!
