Yeah, this is what I'd expect. Last year they had reserves of every weekday bottle up until lunch time-ish on Thursday, when they sold out of reserves. By Friday the only thing you could still buy was the Friday bottle. The demand increased throughout the week as more people got into town for Huna.

They typically do their Friday bottle release in the morning. Most of their releases are at 8 AM.

He was taking about Cycle, but if AC does a daily bottle those won’t last past 9am of the day they are released.

That's part of why I said I wasn't sure. I'm a baseball writer, so I have never made it to the Cycle TBBW releases in the past, due to Spring Training. I do know the demand is higher for those, but wasn't sure if it was similar to the rest of the releases this year.

Another thing I was thinking was that with Angry Chair releasing beers as well, there might be continued stout fatigue, or just people going to AC first, which would slow the Cycle sales. That would be similar to what we've seen with recent releases, where they do sell out, but they stick around for at least a day or two, and some stick around for a few weeks.

Either way, I'm taking off from work this year, so I don't have to trade for them this time around, and can join everyone else in the mad race from Seminole Heights to St. Pete.

Last year AC released in the afternoon each day during TBBW except for BAIGCCS so it made it easy to make both Cycle and AC Releases..if they both do mornings this year it's going to take a lot of planning and guessing on how to proceed

That's probably right...last year, Tues, Thur, Mon, and Wed all were officially sold out by 2:00ish on Thursday. Then Sunday and Friday was gone Friday morning.

Yes, this is right. I bought Monday - Wednesday on Wednesday evening. I didn't go up for Thursday and it was the first to sell out. Friday sold out instantly as well. Line was pretty long with a limit of 2 per person

Sounds like you need to be there absolutely first thing in the morning. Do they typically have the released beer on tap to still be able to try?

Any chance of a release between now and TBBW? Or is that likely their next one?

Historically unless you count last year, because those bottles absolutely stuck around throughout the week.

    *edit*

Realize you meant last until Friday. Thought you meant day of release. My fault, carry on!

Last year they released the Trademark series in December then only released "buddy shots" / 1 beer in January & February....Buddy shots was the only one between Trademark and the TBBW series.

Unless there is some crazy hyped bottle the beer week bottles will probably be around all week especially M-W. No one really gets in town until Thursday for the most part and even then I suspect we'll see less people than in the past coming in town. I usually have a big group that comes but it's been dwindling every year for the past 2-3 years.

AC just put empty barrels out for the taking so maybe something before tbbw. Actually it would be smart for breweries to do some releases over the next few weeks because the local people will buy and any fatigue will be picked up by the out of towners during tbbw. It probably doesn’t matter much for AC, but once tbbw ends bottle releases will be tougher sells given all the $ spent by consumers and just general consumption.

So it looks like Cycle is going to release a barleywine. Just saw they are bottling it today. This should be interesting.

That's basically what Home State was. It was delicious too

In general, what stouts do you think compare to or exceed Cycles? I've had several BA stouts from breweries all over and I am yet to find something that stacks up to cycle. I've not had Bottle Logic stouts yet so maybe that is the answer. But, i'm curious what other locals think.

I’ll take any good Ccb ba stout over cycle. By good I mean things like Lil or ba Zhukov, outskirts, deco etc. BL makes really good stuff, HF BA stouts are legit. Some of Wakefield’s stuff. If goose island made VR more often I’d put that in there. 3 sons fall into this group too.

For cycle I prefer the Dbr base, so I’m happy to see more of that. The other cycle stuf is very good, but My biggest complaint is that they are hard to cellar. So much better fresh.
