    King Sue.
If I could get this, it'd be my go-to as well.

So many DIPAs are "limited" beers which only make an appearance once or twice a year; I look forward to many of them. Hopslam last week, Hi-res this week... how could I have a "go to"?

Been drinking a lot of Weyerbacher Double Simcoe lately. At least once or twice a week now.

Whatever Bearded Iris is selling fresh at the brewery.

I rarely buy IPAs/DIPAs from the stores around me, even the good ones, because it's hard to find good stuff fresh. I typically hit either Kane or Magnify every 2ish months and grab a bunch of stuff. Kane Overhead is a reliable repeat brew.

Typically go for Sierra Nevada Torpedo, Cape May Coastal Evacuation or Stone Enjoy By if I'm just trying to get a DIPA I know I'll love. Usually, I just try new beers though.

    Honestly, no.
The ones I like tend to be limited (and draft only) or too intense for regular drinking.
Pliny the Elder probably could be if I frequented the bars that typically carry it.

I had one, but then Firestone discontinued Double Jack. Because they hate me.

I almost always have some Heady Topper and Sip of Sunshine in my fridge. Always reliable.
I also buy whatever Hill Farmstead cans are out, so when they have a DIPA, I'll buy it. If they had Double Galaxy every week I would keep that in my fridge.

Do you buy cans of this from local beer stores? If so, do they store these beers in their refrigerators?

    Cheers!

Annie , from Good Nature, when there is some chance it is fresh. (They don't date [I & many others have told them:expressionless:] + the distributor seems to take inordinately long to get it out.:unamused:). Guessing, it's best-by is probably ~6 weeks.

Along with everything else, the aroma from the open can is hop-heaven. Just want to strap it to my face for as long as it may last . (6-8 hrs. I've checked.:grin:)

Other than that, just whatever is available & not-old. There's always something good out there[for me - I like all of the sub-styles], especially since the brewery up the road started brewing DIPAs in December.

Just so happens to be one of my favorite beers of all time as well. Hummm, I think I just convinced my self to have one tonight

Yes and Yes, to be honest I've never seen coastal evac not in a fridge. Typically in cans, but I've been also running into bottles a ton recently.

Last week I bought a 6-pack (cans) of Coastal Evacuation at my local Retail Beer Distributor. It was just sitting on a shelf (unrefrigerated).

I discussed this with @brianhink in the Cape May Brewing thread (Mid-Atlantic forum).

    Cheers!

Their Gnarlywine was pitiful. Having not had anything from Lagunitas in over a year? I truly regret my decision. I stopped drinking them because their beer just tastes run of the mill.

I don’t drink them enough to say I have a go to IIPA. The closest thing for me would be Boss Tweed. It’s the IIPA I’ve purchased the most of in the last year.

I'm figuring out that if you're trying to buy beer that's been bottled/canned within the last 2-3 weeks, you really need to have like 5-6 go-to's for each style - then hopefully you'll find at least one of them fresh. For double & triple IPAs, I check everything Revision, then Knee Deep, then Pliny.
