Chill evening at BL. Grabbed RR and we head out quickly.

Will try RR on draft another time.

Maybe a stupid question, but is it possible to buy BL bottles from any bottleshops in LA/Miracle Mile area / get anything on tap? Coming over from the UK on holiday, my gf isn't a huge beer fan so I'd feel bad dragging her to Anaheim as it's kinda far from where we're staying...

I'd be surprised to find much, but you never know. Might I suggest a Disney Land trip with an "Oh, while we are in the neighborhood" tacked on at the end?

There is chance you can find some red rover bottle, you best bet is to bring a bunch of Cantillon (I assume you get it, but I could be wrong), and set up trades. Even if you went to the brewery they only have backwards compatibility and red rover on draft now, of their stasis beers, which is what people are chasing. Honestly, right now is not their best tap list.

Meat Up BBQ in Placentia will have a pretty nice BL lineup on Thursday for their anniversary party. I've only been once but the folks were nice and the BBQ was pretty good. Curious if Byzantine is still holding up out of the keg or if was an isolated bottling issue.

    On Tap:
    Byzantine Vision
    Darkstar November
    Fundamental Observation ‘17
    Ground State
    Gravity Rush
    Iridium Flare
    The Spice Must Flow
    Stronger Than Fiction

Not sure what the unfortunate part is. Red Rover is an excellent beer. It should age well. So those bottles sitting around just means its more available, to more people, for a longer period of time. Seems like a good thing

BTW: Can I borrow that repellent. I would like to spray some on Space Trace, FO, .... come to think of it, let's just spray all the barrels.

If I recall from the time of the recall (ha!) all the existing kegs were considered safe because they were kept properly refrigerated right off the bat. Also, I'm sure they wouldn't put on a keg if they knew it was infected.

i'm sure they wouldn't put on anything that wasn't infected. but my understanding is that refrigerating it would only slow down the process. and with it almost being a year, i would've thought it would be infected by now. even the 1 bottle that i had, i had refrigerated it after i picked it up and it ended up being infected

I had a pour from a keg of Byzantine late last month. It's tasting great, completely uninfected.

Yeah this is true. It’s just disappointing when great beers aren’t appreciated simply because they’re not one style or another. Also, if stores can’t move them, they may lose interest in carrying BL beers in general. Their BA stouts fly, sure. But Lagerithm (which is a marvelous beer) and beers like that collect dust.

They'll just find creative ways to move the non-BA adjuncts, like when FO comes out and they mandate that you buy at least 2 other non-stasis beers to be able to buy FO.

While we may all drool over BA's, I know pretty well that stuff like 714 moves surprisingly fast at places like California Adventure. So while you don't see it, the core lineup is an easy drinker for when you can't chug a stasis nightly.

This x10 - really hoping we see Lagerithm in cans this year. I love the Stasis projects as much as the next guy but lagers are my jam. I'd buy much more of Lagerithm if we saw a 16oz can distro.

Very hit n miss. Starting to see these cans hit distro so honestly no point when you can avoid the fees and just buy it at your local store when they get it.
