Are the old stats dead?

Do you mean the beers that you've reviewed?

 

Todd has said (somewhere) that they're still around.

 

I use to feel that way, but stats really quit mattering to me and I now just enjoy talking about beer

 

Not sure if this is what you mean, but hit the BEERS tab along the top left... Next to forums. Then look to the right next to your profile picture and hit BEERS again...

#1, i don't mind the little "superiority glasses" being gone.... i felt a little cheap when i got a bigger one for subscribing to the mag.... but less so when i would read something asinine by someone with a superior goblet. the glass trophies served only as a testament to one's alcoholism, not palate or opinion worthiness.

#2, the lamest thing now is, when i am on a forum page and i click my name i cannot see "MY BEERS" --- it is only there when i am on the home page or a beer page. i don't really care about "MY CONTENT" --- i use this site to keep track of the beers i have tried -- not the wise-crack i made in some random thread.... i want that list to be one click away.

 

i see -- didn't know about that -- but why not just put it in our personal dropdowns? thanks though.... i can deal

 

Word is many of not all of the old stats will be back after the major site re-design is finished. There may also be some new stats that have been requested by various people.

 

Another two click way of getting to your beers. On this page by one of your posts click your user name (in dark blue) under your avatar picture. A box comes up. Click on "beers" and you'll be there.

 

I enjoyed seeing that too honestly. I'm hoping it'll come back soon as well.

Its not a contest. But I would say that I miss credit ("karma") for participating in forums or reviewing.

 

Yeah I do miss this for sure. I liked seeing where I ranked on how much I have dedicated to the site

 

The site redesign hasn't been rolled out yet. What you see/use now is a cobbled together version of some 3rd party forum software and the beer database that was salvaged when the old site went belly up.

 

I also miss the credit for posting reviews, pictures, new places, etc. Now I feel, why bother, since the effort doesn't even warrant a simple acknowledgement of thanks.

 

Click your user name underneath your avatar in a thread. A little profile box opens. Click beers.

 

Same here. I joined the site back in '09 and always wanted one of the little glasses next to my name. I started reviewing to build my score. Almost as soon as I hit 250 beer karma points, the lowest limit was upped to 500 points and as soon as I approached 500 the site changed
