Went with friends after a movie Saturday afternoon and it was packed. So definitely recommend going on off-days or waiting a couple of months to check it out. It was college bar crowded in a bad way

 

Yeah, unfortunately that was my experience 2 weeks ago on a Saturday also.

 

I went to Maplewood, late a few Saturdays ago, and it wasn't that busy, but was still super loud and smelled like a deep fryer so I don't have much reason to want to go back.

 

It’s like they built the walls out of sheet metal.

 

Water tastes a lot better than Bud Light in my opinion. A closer representation would have been if the bartender just pissed in his glass and handed It to him.

I hate Bud Light. I can drink Miller Light fine, but I’d rather drink nothing than drink Bud Light.

 

The beards are built in already. Definitely a factor to consider.

On another note WTF do these poor excuses for human beings do with water bottles of Prop 14, Ziploc containers of Derivation, etc? This is just something I would never ever consider doing. Ever. Not even as a joke. If I ever encounter one in real life, I probably won't be able to resist becoming confrontational about how fucking stupid they are - in a making fun of them way, not a let's fight about way. Am I overreacting here? Because I don't feel like it.

 

I have been thinking about this a lot. The only thing I can think of is by taking it with them they can get more than if they drank it. TJing it with them gives them the ability to potentially consume twice as much. Maybe split it across two days?

The second idea I came up with is bring it back to share with friends. But, let's be honest. -These guys appear more selfish than that.

 

Sorry I didn't see this earlier as I was there. What did you think about the Prop? I was there about an hour early visiting a buddy that works at GI and we had quite a few samplings of other things. I thought the Prop was just okay, but likely my pallet was just shot. I know they had two kegs and it lasted a lot longer than I thought it would. I think I had three pours, but some details are a bit fuzzy from last night . I do recall the other offerings were a bit weak. I was hoping Founders would show up again with CBS, but no dice.

 

CBS over bcbs is heresy.

 

I thought Prop was consistent with the last few times I’ve had it. Really good, but not as good as the first few times I had it.

As for CBS showing up...that would’ve been a bit awkward since it was an event with Bell’s this week. But, Bell’s offerings were pretty weak IMO. Certainly good beers, but if you know your counterpart is bringing something like Prop 14, wouldn’t you want to do the same?

 

Depends what Goose is paying them to take part in the event.

 

All of this event went to Chicago Blackhawks charities, so my guess is that they didn’t pay them (I really have no idea though). Whether they were paid or not, Founders took part in the same thing with GI about 10 days earlier and brought CBS, so they definitely brought their A game for it.

 

Yeah, but I was just hoping some CBS might have made it to the next event since they had it at Rivalry #1. Totally agree that the Bell's offerings were weak. Two Hearted, Oarsman, and Titania were not on par with Prop. BA Expedition stout and they would have gotten a little closer. Really though, I didn't need anymore to drink

 

That is pretty weak. They have so many great beers at the eccentric cafe, and I’ve seen them
Make the rounds at promo events, would have been nice to to something not on shelves.

 

Looks like Binny's is getting a drop this week, at least out in the burbs...NW, BW and Regular

 

I’m glad I drank my bottle of northwoods over the holidays, so I don’t feel the need to try and time a pickup on this one.

 

Especially at the $25 price tag..

 

Extra Value Liquor on Western has Northwoods and Reserve paired with 2 regular as $55 3 packs. Too much for me, but seems lower than other ridiculous prices.

 

I will pay you to go get me this. I have yet to try Reserve.
