An early start. Flying to Florida to visit family: daughter in Tampa, sister and brother-in-law in Bradenton, in-laws in Lake Wales. Play some golf, drink some beer. Should be a fun, if a little hectic, 10 days.

Good morning BA, have a great Saturday! Supposed to be a nice warmer day today, but it is a bit windy out there. Don't really have much to do today.

Incredible as usual this year. Flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, apricot, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, and pine hops; with moderate honey, bready, light caramel malt sweetness; and floral/grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus rind, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium-full bodied; with balanced creamy/slick malts and sticky/resinous/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing resin/rind dryness, no hop astringency. Not overly sweet or bitter, extremely well balanced. Lightly boozy alcohol, but dangerously easy drinking. Never disappoints. Grabbed 2 packs this year as usual.

Awesome stuff! Haven't had this in a while. 1 year old bottling. Flavors of huge caramel, toffee, molasses, raisin, prune, fig, date, brown sugar, toasted dark/brown bread, wood, and milk chocolate; with lighter notes of vanilla, nuttiness, smoke, charcoal, and herbal/peppery hops. Light-moderate roast/char and woody/spicy bitterness on the finish. Full bodied creamy/silky mouthfeel; with light slickness, chalkiness, sticky hops, and oak tannins. Lightly increasing roast/char, woody hop, and oak tannin dryness. Amazing complexity and balance. Mildly warming 12%, very smooth sipper. Will definitely grab this batch again. I pretty much have never had a fresh bottle of this; but they just linger on the shelves all year, and that's fine by me. Definitely better with age considering the ABV.

6 year revisit review, we finally got these again in the state. Last time I had was a very well aged bomber, this is fresh. This was excellent! Aromas and flavors of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toasted dark bread, nuttiness, vanilla, oak, and herbal/peppery/piney hops; with lighter notes of molasses, smoke, charcoal, dark fruits, and licorice. Light-moderate roast/char and herbal/peppery/piney hop bitterness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and medium-full body. Very creamy/bready malt mouthfeel; fair amount of sticky hops and chalky roast. Light-moderate increasing hop/char bitter dryness; never acrid/astringent. Minimal warming 12%. This fits the RIS style perfectly on the level of hops and dark/roasty malts. Bottle doesn't mention anything about oak, but it's definitely there as stated in the site notes. Well worth picking up. Better than I remember in the previous review. 4

4.5 year revisit. Glad everything is moving to 4 packs now, hope Saison Brett makes it there this year. This is amazing! Aromas and flavors of huge caramel, brown sugar, raisin, plum, fig, red apple, cherry, orange zest, toffee, vanilla, coconut, rye whiskey, toasted oak, brown bread, and nuts. Light herbal hop and rye whiskey/oak spiciness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full bodied; creamy/slick malts, some sticky hops and whiskey/oak tannins in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing sticky hop, spicy rye, oak tannin dryness. Mildly warming 12%, no barrel booze. Just as amazing as I remember from 2013. Was my 1600th review milestone in July 2013. Perfect rye barrel integration with what I would classify as a rye malt English barleywine overall. Wonderful. 4.3

[IMG] Doc @lordofthewiens have a great trip and may you find fairways and fresh beer! @GreenBayBA I will be cracking that with a fairly new friend tonight, pretty stoked to finally give that a go. This is exactly what it is supposed to be coffee and some cinnamon, but the 8% shocks me. Cheers BAs!

Good morning BAs! Well, it's starting out to be a sunny day in NW PA - that usually ends by 0900. I haven't been told that there's much on tap for today but then I usually find out after I start the car. Today's New Breakfast Beer:

$ 15 bombers are usually overpriced, but this one, other than being slightly over-carbonated, is quite good and displays all the additives well.

Up late watching old movies with Mrs. Z last night; I slept in this morning. Coffee time?

More dryness than I usually like, but a dandy coffee stout. Have a great Saturday!

Next up is a special brew. 1977 Coronation Brew by Eldridge Pope & Co. (same brewer as Thomas Hardy's Ale). This one has spectacular notes of caramel and port. Really special beer. Cheers!
