Picked up a six pack yesterday and we're working through them . . .



Light gold color with quickly disappearing white cap. It's not hazy cause I can clearly see my fingers on the other side and my eyesight ain't what it used to be.

Strong aroma of citrus hops, I can clearly make out grapefruit, with something elusive in the background I'll call malt.

My son, the Guinness guy, grabbed one of these, took a swig and his exact words were "whyinhell do you beer guys wanna drink fruit juice". Of course he drinks Stouts so there's that. On entry I get a strong grapefruit like citrus taste followed by a firm bitterness. Malt is well hidden.

Medium texture just like any other medium texture beer. If they were going for a NEIPA style texture something was left out.

If this is a revolutionary beer then I wonder which side it fought on. Another marketing concept beer. Lets make it Hazy, Yes! Lets make it juicy, Yes! Lets make something no one else makes, Yes! Oh please, save me the group think, if you just make it good the stylistic flourishes don't matter. This brew reminds me of the adage that says when you try to please everybody then you end up pleasing nobody. A surf 'n turf sort of brew that is simply trying to be too many things at once. This beer isn't bad, just boring.

 

Where the only white stuff you see are on sandy beaches.

 

Well, because of what @GreenBayBA said I am holding some for both of you.

Another new release by Mikkeller. Didn't know whether I'll like the Belgian yeast in it, but it's surprisingly fitting. Cheers everyone!
