Spiteful Brewing: A Goddamn Delightful Day

Great opening day event at Spiteful yesterday - good vibe, a little loud from the din of concrete and hard surfaces but it'll calm down. Has great garage door "walls" and will definitely be a hit for the Chicago summer crowd. Awesome design, I think. Simple, tasteful, and I liked their can art decorations on the walls. Well done!

 

great to hear, what did they have on draft? any onsite only or to go bottles/cans?

 

So much stuff, it's hard to remember it all. Their standards (porter, IPA, pales, DIPA) then some kind of Irish ale, diggable IPA, maple pigeon porter (the highlight for us) and a couple of other things. Didn't think to take a picture of the tap list, sorry. Will post pics here in a bit.

Kudos to Spiteful on the new tap room. Really like the vibe they created & the custom bar is pretty sweet. The 1-2 combo with half acre is perfect & I'll defibtly be making a return visit

 

Brilliant business decision to open it across the street from a nursing home. Keep the customers depressed and they will buy more beer....

 

I'm sure the nursing home encouraged it, gives the residents on that side of the building something to see when they look out the window. As someone who has had grandparents in nursing homes, rooms "with a view" of young people out having fun are a premium. Plus, what senior doesn't like a snifter of GFY Stout with their dessert after early bird dinner

 

It's finally back!

 

I'd be interested in attending one of these sometime, yet they always manage to have it when I am out of town. I know it's probably not as hyped as it was a couple years ago, but I still think it'd be worth checking out.

 

I'll be honest--when BAMCC first came out, it was one of my favorite stouts. But I picked up both that and Harry at the last Goddamn Day, and actually preferred Harry. Very tasty stout, and much better mouthfeel than BAMCC.

 

Anyone see any details about tickets? Thought they were going on sale today at noon?

 

They posted on instagram that they would post details this morning and link would go live at noon. Haven't seen further details than that though

 

I don't wanna be that guy, but the first batch was insanely good. Subsequent batches have been more spicy and less thick. Still good, but not up to the level of batch 1.

 

Don't worry, both me and my wife agree with you, so we're ALL either that guy, or none of us is.
