Twin Cities Bottle Hunt - 2018

Not all 9/15s have had problems for me. Going to try another 9/15 this week along with an August one to compare. My guess is that it's isolated to just a small subset that didn't get pasteurized correctly or the barrel itself already had problems.

 

Mine are all 09/15 and have had zero issues, looks like some are having some issues with a few dates would like to hear others opinions and tastes.

 

I just had a 9/15 and it was delicious!

 

For me my 9/1s taste very similar to the infected 2015 batches

Tart smell very tart taste no barrel

Ill be sitting out bottles from now on and I really like bcbs

 

I've had 2 so far, both a little tart. Not overpowering to me like 2015, but definitely noticeable and unpleasant. Can't recall bottle dates.

 

It was which means the beers cannot get more infected then they already are. Doesn't mean their quality control department didn't catch a barrel that had some infection in it and went ahead with bottling it.

But this is a Bottle Hunt thread so stop feeding the trolls. MNBeer can start a new thread where he can post every week about BCBS infection but that doesn't belong in here. (For the record I've had no issues with the 5 bottles I've had so far)

Now back to the important stuff. Anyone hear any words about Pirate Bomb?

I was going to ask the same thing. I was under the impression that Pirate Bomb and Pirate Noir were going to be distributed?

 

You and the mnhopfiend are the only two people I have seen across the entire site or anyone I know that has had anything off-tasting, with the exception of 2 people in the BCBCS thread in the beer talk forum. No one appears to be having these issues, which more than likely indicates (1) something went wrong with one of your bottles, or (2) if multiple bottles, you're palate is off some for reason.

There's no other good explanation for the extraordinarily isolated incident.

1. i know of a handful of people with the same experience.

2. how dare you sir, my palate is magnificent.

 

If you truly believe they were off in someway not contributed by something you are or drank etc., you'd be best off posting in the other BCBS infected thread (BCBCS) to try to get answers. Posting in this thread regarding them will be met with a "stop the troll" like vigor, and you'll get no resolution.

What I can tell you is that from that other thread, and from checking many many Untapped reviews, your experiences are an isolated experience.

Granted this is the wrong forum to discuss this topic, but why attack someone for sharing their experience? Clearly your statement about "no one" is not accurate, as you mention 4 people sharing a similar experience. I have only opened 1 bottle of coffee and it was very good; expect many others have not opened many of their bottles yet either. I appreciate getting more data points and am not getting out my pitchfork for those with a different experience.

 

I identified 2 not 4. Both of those were with BCBS Cofee, not regular. I have seen a whopping 1 person post about an off bottle, and as far as anyone can tell, that was an isolated incident since other bottles purchased alongside that one from the same box and batch and bottling were fine.

I did not insult anyone. No pitch fork out.

What is a nuisance is trolling to troll. A "my bottle was infected, I won't buy anymore" comment has no place in a thread like this, and if you aren't willing to post it in the global forum where it is already being discussed, seems pretty obvious that you are just trolling to me (the Royal you). You aren't interested in truly finding answers, but you are interested in the effects. If you're interested in the results, you'll go there and discuss it.

With others not reporting it (massive number of regular BCBS bottles have been open at this point), it is almost guaranteed to be what I stated above. A completely isolated incident, or your (royal you) palate is off. If those were not true, others from the same bottling and same time stamp would have an issue.

I would guess mid-february. They were dipping bottles last week if I remember correctly from their signup.
