    Found a couple of these in the basement fridge after Saturday nights poker game. From a local brewery (walking distance from where I work). No clue as how fresh it is, seems pretty malty but it's labeled an English style IPA so I'm not sure if that's intentional. Decent enough seeing how I didn't pay for it, but I don't plan on looking for more.

    I can't speak for all of Eastern Europe, but in Ukraine and western Russia, yeah it's pretty common. As far as I know there are multiple recipes and different variants having different abv, as well as different additives to change flavors. It's nice for a change when it's really hot outside and you can go for something sweet. I will say too, that some of our homemade "grandma's" recipes taste completely different from the packaged stuff. But I guess that on some level it's just a local traditional drink, kinda like lemonade is for Americans (and yes, kids do drink it despite some alcohol — it's Eastern Europe after all haha).

    This reminded me a LOT of Arrogant Bastard, actually. Obviously without quite reaching its greatness. Still a nice, bold and reasonably complex brew, but just too boozy for my taste.

    It was really sweet, I could see it being a good summer drink. I'm sure if I grew up on it I would've liked it, but it was certainly different than anything I've had before. You can tell its supposed to be more of a refreshment than an alcoholic beverage when it comes in 2 liters and is under 1%..
