Moonlight Brewing, especially if you like subtler styles. Reality Czech and Death and Taxes are classics.

If you want to sample at RR, you'll want to do it from one (or both) of the sampler boards . . . you'll see what those are when you're there.

Thanks for the tips! I've had Death and Taxes a bunch when I've been in the Bay Area.

Yeah, I think I've seen pics of those sampler boards. :-D

Henhouse. Also check out Beercraft in Rohnert Park for other limited distro options.

I’ll second HenHouse. Definitely the 22 beer sampler to try everything. It’s only 2 oz pours but it helps you decide what you want more of.

    Thanks for the advice, all!

Here's a thought/question: Has anyone been in line on Super Bowl Sunday? I personally don't care if miss it, so I'm curious if that could play to my advantage. I'll probably go on Saturday regardless, as that's the only day my friend can go.

I think the first year I went, 2012 maybe, we went on superbowl. it might have helped. Definitely the latest I've gotten in line, around 8:30 am and we were the last group to get in for the first wave. Pretty sure every other year, an 8:30 arrival would have put us much further back, and we've always gone on Sundays, I think the day before President's day every other time. So, actually, most people having that Monday off was probably also a factor, so maybe superbowl didn't change shit.

I have heard from locals that if you go when the game is being played, it’s pretty easy to get in. So if you don’t care about the SB, that might be a good time to go get in line.

3am report... About 20 in line, maybe 30 chairs. End of the line is at punch but very spread out.

    Cheers.

Pete's came around selling early. RR hasn't set up their table yet with coffee and snacks... Shortly I presume.

Well, at least it looks like it's going to be a beautiful day. Post notes on this year's vintage.

I think it varies, but I've had some success doing this (though it's been a few years). On one occasion I left just before half time (NE was playing someone, and I really had very little interest in the outcome of the game - not unlike this year), and was able to get right in. Another time I think I had to wait 15 or 20 minutes to get in. A third time (at this point I thought I was pretty smart) there was still a line of 50 or 60 people so I decided the heck with it (and just took off).

Shrug. I still think it's a pretty smart idea to try to head over during the game, as at the very least, the line shouldn't be too overly long at that point.

You're probably right, but I felt like I had to jump in and say something.

That being said, some of the subsequent responses to his post were probably more on point (so to speak).
