I'm not sure if this has been address already but when I saw the packaged on date (10/27/12) on the back of the single of Bell's Midwestern Pale Ale I picked up from Trader Joe's 20 minutes ago (10/25/12), I thought I'd ask if anyone else has seen this. No big deal, I'm sure it's just employee or computer error, but then again the idea of beer this fresh is kind of exciting.... If the picture's not clear enough, I can post another.....
Soon people will be saying: "The hops fall out of Pliny the day before it's bottled. I drink mine at least two days before the bottle date."
The machines that print that are ridiculous. Would be really easy to accidentally hit 10/27/12 instead of 10/17/12.
So are the people setting up the printers. We average 100,000 cases per week at my plant and we code date everything. I'd say we mis-code something an order at least every other week....not all of it gets caught/reported.
The Bell's Brewery batch number you searched '11511' is a Bell's Midwestern Pale Ale and will be packaged tomorrow. Thanks for your patience.
I had the same beer on 10/24/12 that was dated 10/27/12. I posted a picture of it in the new Late Night Beer whatever it is called now. It was good for a Pale and it does not seem like I altered history or anything.
