OH threads continue to be the gift that keeps on giving. Proof that people can complain about anything.

All Citra is an incredible beer, one of their best imo

    This.

To me there is no distinction, both can be a$$holes and it is not determined by age. I separate the groups in craft beer based on behavior not based on age or presumed girth of their wallet.

Back to what this thread is for aside from some comic relief for some, Mosaic Daydream is really good. All in all today's release was pretty great in my eyes (albeit I don't like FS), and with the ease of pick up I wish more weekends were like this.

Going to have to add a couple of new columns to the meet up spreadsheet.

    Column H - Are you a hazeboiz?
Column I - New money, old money, no money

Most impressive aspect with 4th is the timed, candid malt presence. Nonetheless, the brew opens into a crème brulee: think smoothie/cocktail. Thus, there is a boozy presence, but it’s expected, and it’s fairly well cloaked with all things considered. In any case, it’s dank, pungent, sweet and sticky (keywords: orange, lemon, mango, pineapple, caramel/vanilla...)

Suggestive of Bonn and Sole’s workings on “All the Feels:” El Dorado fits in nicely

If you're talking about The Hazeboiz, yes, I agree. If you're talking about "hazeboiz", which is a construct that exists within this antiquated forum and refers to people who don't mind waiting in line and are willing to at least try to enjoy DDH beers or lactose beers, then I disagree.

As if it weren't obvious enough how out of touch most of the users on this forum are, apparently the terms old/new money are some foreign novelty here. Shocker.

It’s not a construct of this thread though - it’s a direct referral to that Instagram account. I just checked back to the November thread. All came about when that T-45, T-90 Triangle collab happened. One of that account’s first posts was of one of their members lining up for that release the night before and someone posted it in here. Since then it’s used to refer to the douchier side of the hobby.

I think you’re reaching, heavily, to imply that nobody on here likes DDH or lactose. I can think of only one person who fits the bill. Having an opinion about wanting more variety, or the return of the odd non-DDH/lacto version of a beer, isn’t the same thing.

As for lining up - I think comments only come about when it’s out of hand. When people are lining up at 7pm in freezing temps, or lining up unnecessarily, or there’s line cutting, or dickheads chugging beer and getting wasted in line etc etc. Or on the business side of things - people commenting about the fact that OH seems to purposefully cater to and endorse that extreme end of things. We all love the brewery, but it’s ok to be critical.

But there are plenty of members who do line up for beer and aren’t being called out. Fairly sure @RobNewton - a regular contributor- attends most releases. Yeah there’s a bit of banter between the guys who line up (and always get the beer) and the guys that don’t (that sometimes swoop in and score and sometimes miss out and pretend they don’t care). But it’s generally lighthearted. Grow a thicker skin.

You’re right though. It probably does skew a bit old and crusty and reactionary on here. Personally speaking I’m 36 - an old man.

But I guess that’s why some people prefer the Facebook group etc. There’s different options that cater to different tastes.
