    Hey guys,
Thought it would be cool to have an ongoing thread for this year for people to post new equipment that they got. I personally love seeing people's equipment and interesting new toys that are on the market. So please show us your fermenters, ph meters, kettles, and other doodads.

Today My spunding valve came in off eBay. Still no idea how to work it but I'm watching YouTube.

    Enjoy!

I got a water filter last week. Starting to build out my setup in my new digs. I got all the stuff I need to convert my chest freezer to a fermentation temp control chamber.

You can make that pressure gauge for about $12, if you are interested in that kind of thing.
    Cheers.

I spent a lot in each of the last 2 years on gear -- electric biab, last straw bottle filler, freezer/keezer build with 4 Perlick flow controller taps, 3 stainless steel bucket fermenters, 3 2.5 gallon kegs for split batches and mini-batches, a new regulator. I don't want to do the arithmetic. I also think I could get through 2018 without buying anything but ingredients and consumables.

Not new , but a do dad.

I was given ladells about 2 feet long, some slotted some solid, that were allegedly used buy a multi great grandfather back in Germany around or before the time of the Kaiser. They are very large, made out of brass or copper and I guess they were used for scooping hops out?

I'd post a pic if I could, but I am just bad at it.

You could have easily built an all SS one for that price. However whats done is done, but be careful with those....The co2 out gassing creates condensation, acidic water touching the brass will leach brass ( and lead) out and it can/will drip back in your beer. This leads to brass ( and lead) into the beer causing the potential for fenton type reactons.

Was looking at your site for a BYO article on valves -- do you have something like that? Or @billandsuz

As to OP, nothing new purchased as of yet. Contemplating a SS Mini Brew Bucket to move over to stainless fermentation. As always, still working my mind towards a way to keg my 2.5 gallon batches in my NYC apartment that's pleasing/useful for both my girlfriend and I.

Just bought a freshly emptied 5-gal whisky barrel today off Adventure’s in Homebrew… So, that means I have to fill it. Big rye RIS to be brewed soon, probably this weekend! Time to max out the mash tun.

Are you playing scientist again? Source?

Brass is not approved for food contact. There is no restrictions for use of brass in CO2 systems.

In fact brass is in every regulator available. The vast majority of commercial draft systems, the sort of thing that is regulated, will have brass barbs and fittings. Because this is the one area of the system that does not benefit from stainless. If a business feels like spending $10 or $20 extra, that is there problem but they might not remain in business for very long.

I mean, brass is all over these things.
Or maybe you have seen this stem.
Now show us where to buy this stem in stainless as you suggest. You certainly have an all stainless regulator as well, which I for one would love to hear about.

Of the hundreds of draft systems we have installed and worked on I can tell you anecdotally that brass in the gas delivery side is not a problem. Brass on the dispense side is different.

    Cheers.

    Real easy to build.

The threaded end of the gauge is 1/4" and 1/4" ID tube should slide on tight. Hose clamp it and you wont even need a barbed fitting. You can get a 0-60 psi gauge for a couple of bucks, same place that stocks braided pvc hose. A 0-15 psi gauge may be a bit better and you'll need to order that I think.
For gas release, well, your keg already has one.The same can be done with a Sanke coupler if the liquid end is capped. Used all the time to check the delivered pressure of kegs in the field, usually when said kleg is pouring like a mess. First thing to eliminate as a potential problem is the keg.
    Cheers.

I see you are playing your usual jackass self as well

Its not dispensing, nor is it hard to figure out. Until you play nice, I really don't have any inclining to help you out.

    Cheers.

Yeah I am being blunt but truthful. And you still fail to see why I have called you out for bullshit.
Quite pedaling made up facts. Back up your false claims with more than "Because I said so" or give it a rest already. You are talking about toxicity here, and it is not a trivial matter.
