Lagers are boring

 

Some BAs are pretty blinkered and can’t appreciate lagers (or frankly anything outside of BA stouts/(ne)ipas/sours)

I like images if they add to the post, but I'm still trying to figure out which images are OK to post and which ones aren't.

 

I'm with you on that. I had a post deleted yesterday for "non-beer content" (Monty Python video). But it was a totally appropriate response within the context of the post to which I was replying.

 

You would maybe be excused?

I had the exact same video, used in the same context, deleted a few months ago. I was watching to see what happened to yours.

 

Saying that you like or dislike lagers as a whole, or that lagers as a whole get too much/not enough attention, is as absurd as saying you like or dislike ales as a whole. Even if you love pilsners and love dopplebocks, it's not because both are lagers. Treating them as very similar styles because one feature (yeast character) tends to be similar is not very helpful.

 

That's a fail squared. Beer glass fail AND coaster fail.

 

I've got a bunch that I used to rotate through, but I've stuck with this one the longest. It's still my favorite so I'll probably stick with it.

 

I still really like Meantime's modern take on the English IPA....kinda where it all started and many know nothing of them.

 

At least the mods are consistent.

 

This is bizarre timing. I was at my local craft beer store today, and some guy came in and started discussing highly intricate brews he was working on at whatever small time operation he and his “crew” were running. I didn’t hear “program” but it was certainly implied. Lots of “Yeahhhh, you know....” sprinkled throughout the conversation. The disinterested tone of the store staff made me think this was a frequent occurrence.

 

They're definitely not as bold and exciting as the more popular craft styles, stouts IPAs and sours. I do really enjoy some lagers though, a well balanced Pilsner is always a treat.
