I'm personally not getting pours of most beers at $15 for 5 oz. $10, maybe.

First batch of BAMCC was worth $25 or 30 a bottle, pretty easy. My main issue is that later batches were a slight letdown, so I'd be hesitant to drop more than $25 on a bottle without knowing which one I'm getting.

I still maintain Hostile Harry is the sleeper beer in this group. It's a really tasty BA stout that no one pays attention to.

If you selected session1 you get BA Belligerent Bob and If you selected sessions 2 or 3 you get BA Hostile Harry

I wasn’t complaining about the price. I was saying I don’t like having to buy a beer that I don’t want (haven’t had the stout for the record). I understand the business reason (use a hyped beer to move a beer that may otherwise not sell out right away). But I don’t find it to be consumer friendly

I agree for the most part. I bought tickets because I brought my then-gf (it's her favorite beer), so $120 (or whatever it was) got us 2 bottles + 2 bottles of Harry. I wasn't hyped for Harry initially, but figured, what the hell (BAMCC was ~$30 at that point, anyway).

I really wish they'd just produce enough of the damn thing to put it on Binny's shelves again, though!

But would you overpay as in pay $60 (or $55 if you consider a pour of it worth $5)? Because if that's the case, then you could just view the Barleywine as free! :nerd:

Where are they holding this? In the back of the taproom or in the front? If it is the front of the tap room, that place is pretty small so I would imagine they had less tickets than previous years....

Just giving this thread a bump. Wondering if anyone went to the first session, how it went and how the beers tasted.

Nevermind caliente is kind of disappointing it seems thin to me and not caliente at all. Its not what i remember from last year.

BA Hostile Harry has always been a sleeper IMO. BA Malevolence has the nose of prop '14 and I wish the taste followed. It's definitely on the thinner side, but I still love it. Great release and here's to hoping they keep expanding their BA program. I know they focus on traditional styles, but if they want to keep the taproom busy, I feel like they need to start experimenting in different styles.

Was/are the BA beers on draft in the taproom for people outside if the ticketed event? Would consider vulturing in at open tomorrow

Sounds pretty close to what I remember from last year, sadly. That first batch as magic; if they could mix the body of Hostile Harry with the taste of BAMCC we'd be in heaven.

Negative. They didn't have allot hence the low bottle count

This is about my thoughts. I went yesterday, had the 11AM so I didn’t get hostile harry. I thought both the BA Bob and the BAMCC were great. I see people’s points on it being a little thin but I think it’s just not super thick as opposed to being too thin in a bad way. Pepper beers are a fine line for me. My example - End of Days series is just too overpowering for me, but beers like this (and Abraxas which certainly wasn’t thin) use the other adjuncts to cut it in a way that melds together to make a great beer.

And I really liked the barleywine too. BiL!

Also the English Mild they had on draft was a perfect middle man between the two barrel aged pours. I feel like someday I’ll start preferring a beer like that again.

Had a fantastic time last night - my expectations were exceeded. BA Hostile Harry was great although, I think I like the non-BA version better. BA Caliente was out of this world. I didn't think it was too thin at all, and more importantly the spices and heat were so perfectly balanced. To me it was up there with Huna and Abraxas in terms of spiced stouts.

The new taproom is really nice - had a nice time sitting in there. The real surprise of the night was their dark mild Farthing and the new English Brown Ale - If its too loud. Both were fantastic beers! Have to get those on cask and I'd be in heaven.

I went to the first session and had a great time. I loved both BA Bob and Caliente. BA Bob is more like an after dinner type drink. They had 40 BA Bob bottles and 80 Hostile Harry.
