Is the goal to buy the monkish collab or just to buy everything that’s being sold on Saturday? Sounds like monkish may happen Friday. In which case the Saturday release (I’m guessing) probably won’t be crazy - but then again with it being the kick off for beer week who knows. But based on past scenarios, 6am would be unnecessarily early. A good couple of hours after that is probably about right. If monkish does happen Saturday as well then 6am (unfortunately) would be the right move to be certain of getting all the beers

How quickly will the DDH OH go today? Hoping to just take a 4 pack home. Does OH have 32 oz growlers on site or is it strictly bring your own to fill there?

Not sure if the batch in my photo is the one you're thinking of, but I loved it.

Roughly how many people can the tasting room at OH hold? Just trying to figure out if I'll need to line up and how early to be able to get in Friday AM for the event.

If you're going strictly for Monkish, Torst is having an event with them this weekend on Sunday as well. Torst will have The Answer on Friday as well. Lots of good stuff happening!

I think otherhalf probably expanded too much. They now have the capacity to make more beer than they can sell out of in a day or two.they also probably have to sell that much beer to pay for the cost of expansion..that’s why they keep doing mobile can sales, if they did those releases at the brewery beers would start lasting a week a lot more often. That’s would be bad for hype, hype attracts resellers, resellers buy a lot of beer. If they started distributing cans locally They would lose a lot of business from resellers. Kind of a vicious cycle of locals wanting beer and otherhalf hating locals. Just my theory on mobile can sales.

I would be REALLY surprised if they're starved for sales in the city. I'm sure they could keg everything they send upstate and distribute it across the city.

Rather, I think they're trying to grow business beyond the city.

I agree with the conclusion though, OH hates locals.

I imagine it will be a huge shitshow but I'd honestly recommend The Answer event for anyone who hasn't tried any of their beers. The Monkish takeover at OH looks good but I think the Answer has some way more unique beers, they really manage to put the adjuncts front and center.

Late to the game, but had a great time meeting everyone on Saturday! Really cool of Anthony to come and hang with us for a bit (even though OH hates locals.) Finally cracked a Green Power yesterday. I'd say it's a lot closer to batch 1 than batch 2 was.

Interested to see how much of shit show this weekend will be. The "...and a couple more surprises" line on the Monkish tap list could very well be the collab.

The way I read it, was that the meet up was organised by @jrnyc (notorious Long Island reseller) and so the free beers and conversation was them keeping him sweet and essentially keeping beers out of the hands of deserving locals in the long run.

I just want the collab with Carton/Interboro/Barrier. I'll be happy with just that.

Yeah that's a good point - and introduces yet another complication into the "OH hates locals" discussion. What % of OH fans who are local (so say, live within a 2 mile radius) to the brewery are actually from Brooklyn? Probably less than 10%. I'm about as Brooklyn as a fresh piece of haggis.

Why are people so convinced there is a Monkish beer being released in cans? When was the last time OH did a completely silent release. It would have had to have been brewed two weeks ago...
