Back East is a personal favorite, slight bias as it's on my way home from work... Hooker actually surprised me recently with Super Duper Double Citra, that beer was crazy good. Had my first OEC this year in Artista Zynergia Plumtastic which was one of my personal favorites of the year. Other notables include Fox Farm, Cold Creek, Counterweight, Relic. I think CT Valley Brewing can really be top notch, they just still have that weird carbonation issue.

If I go by my spending habits, I'd have to say NEBCO and Counterweight. But I really enjoyed our outing at Fox Farm this fall and I think Alvarium has some potential as well. After that, there's still so much good beer being brewed in CT that it's hard to rank them. I'll just continue to enjoy trying them all.

    1. NEBCO 2. Counterweight 3. Fox Farm

As an experience Fox Farm is incredibly beautiful, especially when its nice out. As an overall beer experience its almost unmatched for me.

I really appreciate the variety and consistent greatness of NEBCO. If I could only drink 1 breweries IPAs it would probably be theirs.

Everything Counterweight does has been great (best hazy IPA in CT as well). Not even any real growing pains from them.

OEC is spectacular but they're kind of in their own category

    I don't like Kent Falls....

I’m lucky enough to live less than 10 mins from Fox Farm so I will echo everyone’s love for this brewery. I have also been impressed with Relic now that their cans seem to be much more readily available. My top 5 best CT beers from 2017 are 1) Fox Farm Alta 2) Fox Farm BA Witch Meadow 3) NebCo Chocolate Vanilla Imperial Stout Trooper 4) Relic The Correspondent 5) Fox Farm Roam: Nelson Sauvin.

#2 and #3 are definitely in my top 10, I'm just wondering why I liked the choco-vanilla so much more than the regular beer.

I think this partly has to do with the sheer number of recipes they make, but some of the beers themselves have varied from batch to batch.

Buddy was AMAZING. The lemon coconut gose was great last year, didn't try it this year. That's a shame.

If you like those three breweries, and haven't visited the fourth, just go as soon as possible. Only downside is their silly growler policy. They only fill their own growlers for quality control purposes (they're standard 1l fliptops), yet one of their growlers exploded on me.

Aside from a couple of the 2R sours, they've made hands-down the best wild/mixed-ferment/weird beer in the state, but they also have a habit of trying too much to the point where it's hard to tell some of the stuff apart.

oh, it's on the list. I'm just on other side of the state. next time i hit casino or proc, it'll happen.

and some of the oec stuff can get repetitive, but at the right times they got tons of crazy stuff, a super deep cellar, and imo the best overall brewery experience top to bottom. the bakery is amazing sometimes when it's open.

In my weird version of heaven, every morning, Matthias describes a charcuterie plate to me for breakfast. Some of those cheeses have been amazing. OEC is the only place of its kind in the world.

I think you guys got your wires crossed. Fox Farm fills any growler. New Park only fills their own.

I always like NEBCo, and have been pleased to see Two Roads continue to grow and do good things. New this year I have been very impressed with Armada brewing out of East Haven.

Fox Farm has been a favorite since I moved to the state last summer. Great vibes at the brewery, buzzy without being too busy, beautiful space. Alta IPA has been my favorite, has a depth to it that I don’t get from a lot of the one trick pony NEIPAs out there, and Hearthbound Porter is excellent as well

Very excited for Five Churches' planned opening in the next couple months, but does anyone know anything about this place?

They've registered a few keg labels, but the address on the registration appears to be a house.

A legal brewery already exists in someone's house, Breakaway Brew House in Bolton. He literally sells the beer out of his garage. So maybe selling beer out of a house is the new, new thing.

Hello everyone, first time poster. My new favorite is Kent Falls. Had shruggie on tap a few weeks ago and went up to the brewery to grab more the next weekend. I have had several beers from them and all were very good to excellent. Another favorite of mine that hasn' been mentioned much in this thread is Ct Valley. Several very good hazy iPas, and the porter they had at the brew fest this past weekend was outstanding. Definitely will pick a few them up if I see them in stores.
