Brouwerij West

X og LA’s punk rock band. Saw them back in the 80’s and last Dec at the ObservatoryOC. Not gonna be in town to see them at the BW. Those who don’t know or understand X, go see them and learn.

 

We'll be there as well. I’ve only seen X play once before, but I’ve seen Watt perform a bunch of times. I’m too young to have seen Minutemen, but I saw fIREHOSE perform a bunch of times. Love me some Mike Watt. Plus, BW beers! Can’t wait.

 

8 1/2 is my favorite Brouwerij beer since Dig My Earth. I assume it's named after the Fellini film?

 

We'll be there too! Haven't been to Brouwerij West yet but looking forward to both the beers and the bands.

Not sure this was mentioned yet but looks like Brouwerij is losing their head brewer



Wish him the best, but it's definitely a bummer. Hopefully whoever replaces him can keep the quality up, but judging by some other breweries that have lost their head brewers somewhat recently (cough Kern cough), I'm not super confident.

 

I was JUST about to go all-in on BWest then heard this.

Super bummed.

 

Or the new HB has mad skills and takes the OG recipes and knocks the socks off of them.

Went to BW today and grabbed some cans of 8 1/2 and Falling Water. Both tasted good, but I preferred 8 1/2. No Tahiti on tap

 

I’d buy Falling Waters again.

 

Got cans of Tahiti and 8 1/2 a couple of days ago. Found Tahiti be more candy sweet than I expect from BW. Not enough juice. 8 1/2 is very good.

Haven't been there yet, got tickets...this is pretty much my exact question. Also wondering how the can/bottle releases are going to work.
