What is shelf life of Fundamental Observation? Got my hands on 2 bottles and was wondering how long can they sit?

It's a BA high-ABV stout, should last years. That said, most beers do not get better with age, though they change. Sometimes those changes appeal to some.

The vanilla beans and bourbon barrel will fade with time- not a good or bad thing, just is FYI.

Have you had it fresh yet? What did you think about it?

Well in that case sock it away in the fridge at 38* and it should retain most of the barrel, but the vanilla will fade. Experience with several other ba Stout with vanilla bottles tells me this. It also told be I can’t drink thick stouts in the humid heat of summer and not feel a lil woozy

My understanding is that Fundamental Observation, although can be aged, is best when drank within a year of purchase. I read that the vanilla will really dissipate with age, which doesn't seem all desirable sense the Madagascar Vanilla beans are a focal point of the beer.

Great beer. A bird in hand is better than two in the bush.
