    (old) News:

"You guys like cans. A lot.

...we're pumped to announce we're changing the packaging format for all of our hop forward beers (and recently extended to some other styles too) from 750ml / 25.4oz bottles into 16oz cans!

Batch sizes and case counts will go up as we get our legs under us.

Cans will be available at both breweries, but please note we won't be able to split the cases evenly on the same day as packaging for logistical reasons (so fewer cases available in Boston vs Canton on day of packaging). Thanks on behalf of the whole trillium team for your support to help us achieve this incredible milestone."

First two can releases in June (end of the month) were Congress Street and Melcher Street. Cans come in four packs but you can buy individual cans, if you like. Yes, the date is on the bottom.

    Trillium Can Spreadsheet:

@jimmyfausto created this awesome spreadsheet. In his own words:

I've been maintaining a spreadsheet for all Trillium can release information, including sell out times, hours/days available, and other notes. I know availability is a frequent topic here, especially for travelers and newbies, so I've made the google doc viewable by the below link. (Let me know if people have trouble accessing it)

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1mmBOt3Bia-mo5gef5A7nENRkFSBx7NCVaSXbH9RYJ78/edit?usp=sharing

All sell out information is from Trillium's social media, unless noted. There have been rare occasions where they didn't post sell out times for a few beers, in which case I guessed the hours.

    New Hours at Canton:

"OUR NEW HOURS RESOLUTION It's a new year! Time for a Team Trillium resolution: make Canton more awesome. We've always felt like party poopers shouting "last call" every Friday night, so starting tomorrow (1/6) Canton will now be open until 10PM on Fridays & Saturdays! And EVERY Sunday from 12PM-5PM! Cheers to more beer, more food trucks, and more fun in 2017."

Please note that LAST CALL is 30 minutes before closing! This applies to Canton site only.

Reminder: Fort Point site does NOT offer any on premises drinking.

Anyone try the black IPA? It's a style I love when executed properly but that's pretty rare.

    My brother-in-law just texted -

"P 26 is delish! So smooth. Tastes much more like an IPA than a porter/stout."

I'm very much looking forward to trying it.

I've been buying Trillium pretty much weekly since 2014 but the past few weeks I've noticed myself not enjoying the hoppy beers as much as other hoppy beers from other local breweries such as Lamplighter, Idle Hands, Exhibit A, Springdale, Mystic and Night Shift.

I may not describe it correctly, but I get less overall flavor and aroma present and notice a lack of softness in the mouthfeel in their regularly hopped IPAs. I had been buying mostly DDH from them due to this recently and maybe that's why I'm noticing this?

I remember a few years ago it came out that they got a bad batch of hops that had less oil or something that was messing with the beer, though that got sorted out when they received new hops. I wonder if something like that has occurred again?

I know when people say "X beer" has changed it's usually due to some change in that person instead of an actual change in the product, but has anyone else noticed anything like this in the past month or two? Maybe it just means it's time for a short break from Trillium for me

haha! Not necessarily sick of, just underwhelmed recently. I was wondering if anyone else noticed the same thing or if it was just me

I took a long break from them and recently revisited and thought it tasted on par with what's been coming out of Canton for a while.

The product from there has never been as good as the days of 750s of street beers, but a healthy break tasted good to me.

Try a blind taste test with a couple trilliums and a bunch of other breweries, see which you like the best. These are a lot of fun. I've done several, and Trillium always comes at or right near my favorite.

It is probably worth taking a break for them for a time period and then coming back. There are a few breweries that I frequent often, whenever I start feeling underwhelmed I change it up for a bit, when I come back, they're as good as they've always been.

Anyone have any thoughts on the recent Stillings. Had a good friend ship me some cans and the Stillings is straight grass.. really tastes nor smells nothing like Nelson to me.

I loved the P26 I had at Canton, really wish they had canned/bottled that one. Somewhat rare to find a well executed black IPA in my opinion.

I thought P26 was quite meh and poured like the last half glass in the sink. To be honest, black IPAs arent really my thing but nothing stood out for me

So, $25 for a 5th anniversary glass and one (1) welcome beer for their 5th anniversary party? Hmmm

If it’s not worth it for you then don’t enter the lottery for tickets??

I don’t really see the problem? A 10oz pour of a sour/BA stout is usually $12-13 range and it wouldn’t be crazy for the glass to be what, $8-10, not that far off.
