so after many times of picking it up and setting it back down, I ended up passing on a bottle of Fruet with a price tag of $29.99 + tax, which I am not used to living in the great state of Montana, no sales tax rules...but I digress.

there were about 3 left on the shelf. the clerk had no information on when/how much they received or the beer in general.

I ask my fellow BAs, is the price worth it?

If you've picked it up and set it back down many times, and then came here to post about it... I think you know the answer to this question.
Now go grab that bottle while you can, and find out for yourself!
    You'll make more money.

I thought it was good but I didnt pay anything for it. what I do usually with the high dollar beers Im not sure of is just throw down with 3-4 other people so you dont have to possibly make a 30 dollar mistake out of just your pocket

This is a phenomenal brew ..... hard to pay that price for any brew, but as with many of the higher ABV Bruery beers, they tend to be an experience and not just another beer. Take that for what it's worth.

Well, I paid $32 + tax so I guess my answer is yes though I'm still sitting on it & can't tell you if it's any good.
-edit- for what it's worth, it's still available in Seattle sitting in the cooler at Pear Market.

Honestly, I'd pay $50 for this beer. I got one online, had it, and was blown out of the water so much I ordered two more. It's an amazing beer. I'm hoping to get a few more when I have the cash.

$29.99 seems to be the lowest price they are available for. I paid that for mine. I haven't tried it yet but I have not heard one single bad thing about it. Mine is in with my cellar. I'm not really aging it (I don't usually do that without trying a fresh one first) but I'm just holding for.... something.......

Having drank one fresh, I think that their claim that it will age for decades will hold true. It was damn good now and has great potential down the road.

I have to concur with previous posters in regards to going in on the purchase with some friends. The beauty of a beer like Fruet is that for 8 dollars a piece, four discerning people can bask in its immensity and refinement and ask themselves "would we trade this for a Sierra Nevada sixer?"

After shelling out $30 for a bottle, I bought 2 more. It's that good and (hopefully) you'll make $30 again in not much time. I say if you're not skimping on bills, get it.

Care to share some suggestions? I've looked in a bunch of spots and bought the only one I found. That was at Bottlecraft several weeks back.

I drank a bottle of it tonight. Beer doesn't get much better tasting than this. Don't pass this one up.

At that price, I would pass. There are plenty of good beers to drink, which cost less money.
