Cambria Hotel on Superior and Mes Vanderway has 2016 Prop on tap. It's $22 for a 20 ounce pour. So if you're in the mood for some molassesy smokey whiskey spit go get some. If anyone works at one of the hospitals in the area we get 25% off.

13 was amazing. Paid over $30 for it though. Before that, binnys sold 12 & 13 bottles of regular and barleywine for $10. Price jumped a lot in a year.

 

Miss remebered it; it was 12 & 14 regular and 13 barelywine.

 

How much was the 12 regular (and any of the variants/vintages that people have had) at Clybourn when they've had them available the past couple months? I've been thinking about making it over for one of their "Poppin' Bottles" days, but it hasn't worked out yet. I have been curious to know how the prices are.

 

When I was there the other day - they had BCBCS in bottles for $60 and they had Reserve for $80.
I passed.

 

Yikes. That makes me think it’s not worth my time to go check it out. I would’ve thought maybe $35 and $50 for those.

 

12 was $30. 16 was $20. northwoods was $50. hard pass on northwoods, but the rest, ooo yeah

 

For folks who attended FoBAB and had a chance to try the scotch barrel aged one and enjoyed it, good news -- they bottled it.

It's being released under a different name though: Islay

I asked them on Twitter and they confirmed it's the same beer though.

 

Thanks for this; I assumed it was (mostly because 17 months is a long time to age a random one-off from GI's lineup), glad to hear for certain that that's the case.

I like scotch and I like bourbon county but I did not like this. I drank a stunning amount of brasserie blanc to cleanse my palate after this islay (someone handed me a pitcher of Brasserie Blanc, which is weird. FoBAB is weird.)

 

Yeah.. I assume that's why they renamed it. Didn't want the Bourbon County brand associated with it since it's so polarizing and unrepresentative of what that series usually is.

 

I also was not a fan of this Beer. Basically nothing but peat with no actual bourbon county coming through.

 

Does anyone know how much Reserve retailed for?
