Drinking a "new" macro beer from the monopoly. The same basic beer was released about two years ago with a different label and a higher price. Now it's back at a more affordable price. Tastewise it's a dry and hop forward amber lager, and the hop mix is rather ecclectic, including both Saaz and Cascade, but I think it works. I doubt this is dry hopped since it lacks the brightness of a dry hopped beer, and I've had beers using Cascade in the late boil before and it gives a different impression than using it for dry hopping. The most interesting aspect of the beer is the middle-aftertaste where you can clearly taste munich malt, a malt which is clearly advertised on the can as well. It's nutty and bready and reminds me of the flavor I've gotten from homebrews using 80% munich malt from Viking malt (which is located in the same city as this brewery, so there's no great mystery where they get the malt from).

Had to have a beer now as I'm getting my elderly aunt out of the house for a Mexican dinner.

We're bracing for another substantial snow storm. Hope the power stays on. I like to think all the weak trees have already fallen.
