Maybe instead of looking at race, sexual orientation, gender etc. we as a community should just work to include more people in general. Sadly that statement belongs in the Controversial thread these days. I don't care if you enjoy cosplaying as a wombat, if you brew good beer I'm gonna drink it!!!

Wait. They're suggesting that porters aren't stouts, stouts aren't ales, and ales aren't beers! The horror!:wink:

Brewers should specialize and do what they are good at. Last thing I want is a Blue Moon NEIPA or a Yuengling Coffee Stout. To quote Lavar Ball "Stay in yo' Lane!"

I did try it and I preferred the SN little hazy - I wasn't overly impressed with the NB hazy Voodoo. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

To each their own, I'm waiting on Aloha Sculpin personally.

Jacks Abby seems to do OK, lots of 5% brews from them.

Of course your intro makes one wonder your intent, but assuming that your list is still meant to reflect your opinions, what beers don't taste better in a glass for you?

Beer peaked 5 years ago. Most new stuff is garbage. Good stuff is being ignored by the fickle tickers that make up craft beer geekdom.

There's a part of me that wants to disagree with this, but I just can't figure out how to.

    More of a pet peeve...

I don't like it when people lazily quote an entire post, when their comment only speaks to a small portion of it.

Then I have to read the entire quote to figure out what the heck the person is responding to.

If it's traditionalism that you're referring to, (which I do appreciate) the upside is that traditional styles are becoming more popular. I'm seeing a lot of pilsners, Helles, Kolsch, Gose, etc.
I've begun to realize that my main problem with breweries nowadays isn't with making NEIPAs or pastry stouts per se, (as I often love those styles) it's with their model of brewing. I've considered making a thread on it. There's something that genuinely bothers me about breweries that only opened a year ago making constantly rotating series of slightly different variations of the same NEIPAs and BBA dessert stouts, charging $20+ for them, and not making any traditional or simple beer styles until they've grown rich on overhyped beers, and then overcharging for them; as opposed to OG American breweries that have matured and perfected their art for decades making traditional styles, making them well, and charging reasonable prices for them. I think that's what really is bothering me, not the new beer styles themselves. Something feels wrong about the new model of brewing.

The idea that beer can peak.

And if you actually believe that this entire thing called beer can peak... then the idea that it definitively happened in your lifetime.
