I'm heading out to Palm Springs on Sunday from LA and was wondering what breweries people recommended not too far off the 10? Already stopping at Brew Rebellion. Want to hit Sanctum but they dont appear to open until 1pm.
Hangar 24 would be my sole recommendation. Never had Brew Rebellion but there beers are gimmicky and poorly received.
Thx ... I'll look into Hangar ... their stuff has never really done much for me (not a knock, just hasnt wowed me) ... going to Rebellion bc i've loved everything by them that i've had.
Homage in Pomona should definitely be a priority. If you're a fan of sours I'd recommend stopping at Sour Cellars in Rancho Cucamonga.
haha ... thanks for all the input about Homage ... i'll def have to work them in! any specific recommendations once i'm there?
I would definitely skip Brew Rebellion. I've been twice, easy pass. I live in Rancho right off the 10 and there's like 5-6 breweries within a mile of each other if you wanted to get the most bang for your buck on drive time. A few notes: Sour Cellars: Really great sours and the vibe is interesting, check out the interior pictures on Yelp/Google. If you enjoy sours definitely stop here. Hamilton Family Brewery: The beers are middle of the road, nothing that will blow your mind but not bad by any means. Kings Brewing: I personally really enjoy this brewery. They are following the haze craze hype and aren't shy about it. Usually a huge variety of beers (20+) ranging from sours, NE IPAs, and pastry stouts. J Wakefield was out there a month ago and collaborated on a stout, should still be on tap and in cans. Rowdys: They make some really solid belgian beers and true to style beers. Great scottish ale and they don't go crazy over the adjuncts. Huge space with arcade games, pinball, etc. No Clue Craft Brewery: I haven't stopped by in a while but it's a quarter mile from Kings. Similar to Hamiltons imo, nothing exception but still good beers. Solorio Brewing: They just opened up about 3 months ago. Probably the nicest people ever, family owned brewery and the head brewer and his wife will make you feel like family. The beers are still being dialed in for sure but I can't over emphasize how nice and welcoming they are, pretty sure everyone working is direct family? Homage isn't in the same area as the above breweries but still pretty close. Definitely worth of a stop. Fantastic sours, ipas, and they usually have a pilsner on tap which I love. Let me know if you need food recommendations in the Rancho area if you decide to stop at any of the above breweries. Enjoy!
Heading back into Pomona in a couple of weeks for a gig. Anything new or interesting near Homage Brewery? Last visit was early 2017. Homage and The Rookery Ale House are my go to spots when I’m in the area. Sanctum is near the area but never been. Still not worth a stop? Looking for good eats besides the Rookery. Thanks.
