We're complaining about a portion? Lol. How about holding a portion of them for Sunday instead of all of them? Sounds like it benefits locals to me.

Don't worry, I'm missing something too. It's 3,500 Field Journals that we were supposed to have on property today.

We've got our best-laid plans, and we've got the tumultuous nature of reality.

 

Is being a regular the new being in the industry?

I've never been to a WOL so this might be a dumb question but I'm confused on whether you need a field journal just for the stamps or if you need it to attend WOL itself. Can anyone confirm one or the other?

You only need the journal for the stamps. You can walk in to the space they are using for WoL and drink beers without having the journal.

 

If you're doing WOL for the 7-day (or 3-5-day) perks, then you need the field journal. If you're going just to try the beer, then you don't need one. They're not required to attend, just to collect the rewards.

 

All this field guide stuff is adding another layer of difficulty to making it out to WoL. What it seems like now is that we will actually need to go 8 days in a row to guarantee guide + stamps?

@bottlelogiclindsay I guess what I am asking is whether we will still be able to collect stamps if worst comes to worst and guides run out before the end of the day Sunday?

 

Looks like Field Journals will NOT be available today ... 3,000 will be available on Sat when BL opens at noon ... 500 will be held for Sunday.

Hopefully BL posts Field Guide availability updates throughout the day on social media for those of us you are not able to get there Sat at noon @bottlelogiclindsay

 

Not sure I totally understand your question ... but my understanding is No Field Guide = No Ability To Collect Stamps

 

Last year 2000 got in to level up and completed the whole thing. I'm still not sure why folks think they will run out of the guides. Especially those who are worried they'd run out on Saturday of the 3k they'll be getting.

 

There's no FOMO like beer FOMO.

 

There's probably some of the less zealous fans who maybe only were able to go for a few days or maybe only wanted the 3 or 5 day bonus, or perhaps RL crap came up. I just hope that some don't take field guides that don't intend to use them.

 

Last year 5,000 guides were picked up, and that was before it was a "hot commodity". I know someone who is planning to show up at opening tomorrow who can't possibly make even 3 days due to a work trip, but has FOMO that his work trip might be cancelled and then he would want to have the booklet. The booklets are going to go; I'm willing to bet heavily on that!

Unfortunately not; we capped the Field Journal numbers to get a handle on the prizes and more intelligently plan for "Academy of Exploration" pre-sale bottles.
