Good morning BA, have a great Sunday! Supposed to be a nice clear and warmer day again today. Need to do the usual bottle returns, laundry, and grocery run for the week later on. Was a pretty slow work week, hopefully this one will be less boring.

Amazing DIPA. Flavors of big tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, light pepper, and pine hops; with moderate cracker, white bread, light honey/caramel malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus peel, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium bodied and moderately crisp finishing. Balanced bready/grainy malt and sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Light resins/rinds, increasing bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Insanely drinkable, never overly aggressive. Extremely dank and vibrant hops; with a nice solid malt backbone. One of the most refreshingly drinkable DIPAs I've ever had. Simcoe, Citra, and Centennial hops. Still have one bottle left, still tasting amazing over 3 months old.

HBC 682 hopped NEDIPA. Awesome stuff! Aromas and flavors of big lemon, orange, peach, pear, mango, melon, red apple, onion, citrus peel/zest, weeds, green pepper, and pine hops; with moderate wheat, bread dough, biscuity malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light pine, citrus peel, herbal, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; creamy/bready/grainy wheat and some sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Dangerously drinkable, minimal warming 9%. Never aggressive. Another spot on NE DIPA as expected. Very unique hop profile from the HBC682. Very dank/earthy hop complexity, with some nice citrus/fruity juiciness; balanced malt backbone. Glad I got the 4 pack. Still need to review Vic Secret Eyes.

This is insane! Amazing lasting head retention and thick lacing the whole glass. Aromas and flavors of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, pecan, fudge, marshmallow, biscuit, toasted dark bread, caramel, toffee, molasses, vanilla, cream, and light smoke/charcoal. Light roast/char and herbal hop bitterness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and very full body; with a very smooth, creamy, silky, velvety, and rich mouthfeel that is amazing. Light slickness, chalky roast, and sticky hops. Lightly increasing dryness from hop/char bitterness; never acrid/astringent. Super smooth, minimal warming 11%. This meets and even surpasses what I remember when I reviewed it in 2016. Pretty much identical to the one brewed in Europe at the time, but this one is a bit less bitter on the roast. Phenomenal. Glad I grabbed a handful of these. Would definitely get more if they are still around.

Fantastic! Glad these are in cans now, smaller format. Aromas and flavors of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, toffee, molasses, vanilla, bourbon, toasted oak, dark bread, fudge, and herbal/pine hops; with lighter notes of raisin, licorice, smoke, charcoal, and coconut. Increasing booze in the aromas as it warms, but not overwhelming. Light-moderate herbal/spicy hop, roast/char bitterness; and mild bourbon/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full bodied; very creamy, silky, velvety mouthfeel; lightly slick, sticky, chalky, and tannic. Slightly drying bitter hop/oak tannins. No acrid/astringency. Dangerously smooth sipping; mildly warming 14.8%, zero barrel booze. Spot on RIS style complexity, with amazing barrel integration. Reviewed a 2015 bomber over a year ago, just as impressive here. Looking forward to other barrel aged cans showing up(hopefully). This was my last one.

    Cheers

This is one nice pale ale. Gotta love the versatility of a good beer of this style.

I would have preferred proper glassware for this, that being said, it's a very tasty beer. The label says it's a blend of their Bourban BA quad and whiskey BA Imperial stout, two fine beers. So how can I argue with This![IMG]

I am drinking Trappist Westvleteren nr 12 Quadrupel ABV 10.20%, and Westvleteren Blonde, a Belgian Pale Ale, ABV 5.80%. I am not comparing them. They are too different. I am just drinking both at the same time for a unique experience.

In my opinion Westvleteren nr 12 taste like dark bread, yeast, grapes, plum, small hint of coffee, medium carbonation, and it is quite smooth. The Westvleteren Blonde taste like banana bread, cloves, yeast, perhaps a tad citrus, but it is a milder beer. They are both extremely good beers.

    Good Morning,

I’m starting off with this IPA I haven’t had before but heard good things about it.

It’s a solid very drinkable beer really enjoying it.

My wife & I are spending the weekend at our new camp on Lake Algonquin in the Adirondack Mtns. (we just closed on it back in December). It's got heat and can be used year-round. Currently, it's 17 degrees out here. Yesterday, it got as high as 31 degrees[IMG][/IMG] ... spring is right around the corner. A sure sign of Spring in New York State is the appearance of Genesee Bock beer. I mixed up an exclusive NYS black-&-tan that I call "cow meets goat":

My younger daughter graduated from college in New York State last May, and moved to the Tampa Bay area of Florida in August. She came back up to NY for Thanksgiving and brought me an assortment of beer brewed in St. Petersburg & Tampa. There were a few from Cigar City, including the Jai Alai (which is her favorite). Damn, I raise my kids right, don't I ? My wife and I are flying down to Fla to visit her, the first week of April. Looking forward to hitting the Cigar City taproom and as many others as we can fit in.

Taste on entry is both malt and hop forward in about equal proportion. The spicy, citrusy, piney hops sing in unison with rich malt carrying the base parts. It presents and continues as an harmonious whole with everything working well together in a beautiful blend of concordant parts. The malt presence is particularly noted because that's often lacking in some Session IPAs. A Session IPA that comes across as a ramped up Pale Ale, this one's a real beauty backed by genuine talent.
