I've had the chance to try a few Triptych beers in both cans and draft but trying to find any stores that carry them. I travel I-80 across the state and would love to find some thats not too far off of the hi way?

    Thanks for any suggestions!

    You're from Michigan. I-80 doesn't touch Michigan. I'm confused.

Triptych pretty much distributes around downstate IL. For now. They're working on a larger production facility as we speak. Not sure what that means for their distro footprint just yet. You'll find them on draft in the QC from what I've heard, but don't know about cans. Otherwise you'll have to head south from I80 to Champaign-Urbana, Bloomington-Normal, or Peoria for cans.

The taproom in Savoy is a nice little place. Due south on 57 about 2 hours or less from 80 depending on Chicago area traffic. Always a pile of fresh cans available there and local beer stores. They are really good about updating their to go list.

This thread also gets occasional updates. Good luck and cheers!

If you are going all the way across I-80, stop in the Hy-vee in Peru and/or Rudys in LaSalle - both carry Triptych although it tends to move fast. Both are pretty close to the highway. Rudys is well worth a stop on its own anyway.

Well, I just learned something. Knowledge of their can distro is something I lack because I'm spoiled being less than 10 minutes away and pretty much having just a whole mess of their cans in my fridge at all times.

I miss the days when Chicago was getting Triptych drops :slight_frown:
I could crush Dank Meme all day. Absolutely love that beer.

Im not sure how recently they started making their way up there but @3xAnthony recently noted that they can be found along I-80 and in the Quad Cities now. (don't ask me to go find the post :stuck_out_tongue:)

I have seen Triptych at Binny's south loop sometime last summer maybe. Not sure if that was a one time thing as I do recall them making a FB post about it. It was Dank Meme cans.

I know Beer Cellar in Lisle gets some every once in a great while...

I've stopped a couple times at this Hy Vee and came up empty but thanks for the tip on Rudys, I'll check them out on my next trip!

The QC is where I have found it on tap, the Milan Happy Joe's of all places has had a couple on tap. They've had Because Stout #01 for the last couple weeks. That's a tasty beer.

I've checked the Binnys in Orland Park and they don't carry anything????

The drops that happened at Binny's were just a handful of times in summer 2017, and mostly Chicago proper Binny's IIRC, along with a few at Beer Cellar too. Outside of my local Champaign Binny's, the OP one is my other most frequented. I've never seen their cans at OP.

@3xAnthony can give us the definitive info on distro footprint when he has a moment. He's probably busy w/cranes, pipes, building the Memery, and brewing beer. Which is how I prefer it!

Have you tried the Hy-Vee in Milan? I'm pretty sure they get cans as well.

And no, no Chicagoland Binnys gets Triptych - the drops last summer were a one off. They don't distribute in Chicagoland.

Yes, my in laws live near Milan so I frequent all the Hy Vees around the QC area. All I have picked up can wise have been Dank Meme, Really Dank and their black IPA which I can't remember what it was called. Radicle Effects has had the Meme cans too

Sorry for the delay! As @flat_lander alluded to, I am absolutely buried right now in work with expanding our facility to encompass our recently acquired warehouse directly across the street from the existing brewery.

I'm reticent to make any promises about Chicago because I've been so wrong in the past with regards to us actually having enough product to do anything useful.... BUT I'm also reticent to enter another market that we're not quite as familiar with. We've seen lots of Chicago breweries enter our market to become out of date shelf stock months later and I don't want that to happen to us.

Our beer moves quick in the existing footprint, which is good for everyone involved... our new expansion has added a little more capacity, but ultimately the expansion is really focused on improving technology and efficiencies. We're going from a completely manual, direct fired brewhouse to a more automated, steam powered brewhouse. We've got a whole new layout where brewing, cellar, packaging, and warehouse can all function at the same time without interfering with each other and having hoses all over the floor blocking forklift lanes. We're going from a 18x28x8 foot high walk-in cooler to a 20x30x16 foot high drive-in cooler for greater efficiency stacking and organizing.

When this expansion opportunity came up, it was really important to me that it cash-flowed based on our current business, not a pie-in-the-sky growth plan that has really gotten a number of breweries in trouble recently... and so, we will have a little more beer, but I'd like to help our local-ish partners not run out quite so quickly... and I want to be able to have more bandwidth for other sour/fruit/barrel-aged projects. I also want the ability to keep improving quality, shelf-life and consumer education (about things like buying cold beer, storing it cold, etc.), and the further the beer is from me when it is out in the market, the harder that is.

Our distribution footprint will grow when the time is right. A distributor handles our beer basically everywhere outside of Chicago area, but we both work closely together to make sure we don't have beer out in markets we don't have inventory to support (like Rockford or East St Louis)... and we still have the rights/license/ability to self-distribute into Chicago if we were so inclined... but truthfully, there are a number of great breweries killing it up there already!

Support your local places and we'll keep coming up for the occasional beer-fest vacation weekends that we love... speaking of which, hope to see some of you over at Mike's Smells Like A Beer Fest on April 28th.

Here's a pic that I posted on IG recently for those of you who might not follow us there:

Thanks for the great reply. New gear looks beautiful. Excited to try the new raspberry brett in my fridge. Might have to do that tomorrow...today...whatever.

Saw you guys will be at the Mike jam. Hoping to make it, but less an army of bots, my odds of getting a ticket are nill.
