My gf was at BL last year during the foggy window exodus. She was so happy to already be inside before a ton of idiot drunk drivers sped away from a brewery to go get beer. Glad they're not pulling that crap again

Or one of Nobles early releases, I think it was double platinum, as soon as the monkish IG post went up everyone sped from Anaheim to Torrance, grabbed cans, and then sped back to noble.

Trying to gauge feasibility of doing a can release. Let's say Monkish posts a can release on IG, and I live an hour away. For a typical release -- i.e. not a crazy deal like an OH collab -- what are my chances of getting beer, and how long should I expect to wait in line?

They post about an hour and a half before the release. You live an hour away. You are getting there 30 minutes before opening. They'll be 200 people in front of you. If it's a large batch, you should be ok. You'll get your beer within 45 minutes of opening. Anybody think I'm off on that?

pretty accurate, only thing I would add is, if your not their by at least 5:30 during the week most likely you won't be getting cans

Thanks for the replies, folks. Love Monkish beer, but have been avoiding can releases because it's just not a customer-friendly operation, and I'm sure that's only worse with can releases.

Following up on that, I guess my next question is what's counts as a "large batch"? Is that 50 cases, 100 cases, or what?

    125-160 cases.

They're brewing stouts per Henry's IG story. What has the world come to?

The recent Stouts, Shadow of Shadows and Deepest Darkness, have been really good.

Coffee Carl was great on tap. Thought it was great execution, even if stouts aren't their calling card. Actually searched high and low for some of the cans, but alas...

Would love to try some of their other stouts in the near future.

Another factor that is important is allotments. It seems they have been pretty consistent with 2 four packs PP. So if they do a normal run of 140-150 cases your looking at approximately 400+ allotments which would make you a safe bet to get beer if you get there before 4pm.

    Cheers,

That’s almost as bad as going to a show and wearing the headliner’s band shirt. We get it, you like Metallica. Lol.

I don't wear any of my brewery swag at breweries specifically for this reason. Makes you look like a clown. The amount of Monkish gear I've seen at WOL has been embarrassing.

What pisses me off the most is when someone wears a brewery hat and a different brewery t-shirt. Like we get it bro, you like beer.
