I think people are looking at "No beer allowed back in the fest" rule incorrectly. I believe last year was the first time they let people who already entered back into the fest in a separate gate. I think they mean if you are using that reentry gate, you cannot bring beer back in. I think if you want to go back in the main entrance cattle line then the standard rules would apply and you can bring in your 72oz of beer.

 

Has anybody confirmed this or is this theory?

 

People are usually absolutely trashed at DLD, I don't think it would be that hard to get someones PIN.

Just so people know, I'M JOKING.

That was how it worked last year. We were in group A. We went in early with our beer in backpacks and picked up our allotments. We then went back to the hotel and slept a bit. We re-entered with our beer in backpacks in the afternoon. We were not able to go through the quick pass line and had to wait in the same entry line we waited in earlier in the day when we first entered.

lol, while I still trust a robot car over an actual Uber driver any day...I'l take a real cabbie over them all. Like a bat of out hell!

1. If all your group brings 72oz of beer, you should still be fine. And if its anything like the past, there will be leniency on the limit.
2. While I do enjoy that I could bring in my own snacks in the past, the food options/lines have been much better then the old days (and I assume will keep getting better each year).
3. You'll have plenty of beer options, so who needs to leave and get more?

None of these are major changes and all should be expected from a festival that keeps growing and still allows you to bring your own beer in.

The quick reentry was an option in 2016 as well, just going in thru the out gate, but bags were not allowed there - you had to go through the full line again (north gate corral hell). However in past years the verbiage about "no beer reentry" was not present on the site.
