You know, I thought about going there, but this pour of Ryeway to Heaven over lunch has me feeling way better about the rampant ageism I just experienced. I don't think a lawsuit will be necessary. Interestingly enough, I suddenly feel younger too...

Did Heroic Dose cans sell out already? I'm not seeing it on Half Acre's typically up-to-date website.

If only more people thought like you...I would be able to grab a 4-pack but alas, we are in Chicago and this is sold out already. :slight_frown:

Really good beer. I would never have thought that it was 13%. The fruit truck on tap at HA was awesome as well. Highly recommend both if they’re on tap.

This is so tempting for me. Honsetly out of the ten 1/6 barrels ive put through my kegerator since ive had it, 7 of them have been HA....now to convince the wife that its all worth it.

The heroic dose has me impressed. I didn’t think it would be possible. But they did it

do you have a single or dual tap & how do you feel about the investment overall? Also what sixtels have you had & what's your favorite?

Maybe I’m the outlier but Heroic Dose was exactly what I expected: very strong and very sweet. Glad I got to try it but also glad I didn’t make an effort to buy the cans, which resulted in more for those that did like it. Win-win for everyone.

Just wanted to pop in and say that I grabbed a 4 pack of Trakking Light on Thursday and I am very much enjoying it.

Just a single tapper, but am tempted to make it a dual. It was a cheaper model but had good reviews. The investment wasn't huge (~$475 or so) I upgraded the faucet so total I'm in about $550. Have not regretted it once. Its in the kitchen by the deck door so grilling has improved in a huge way lol. Down the road I will probably upgrade all together, but the one I have works great for me so far. I've put daisy cutter trough it twice, gone away twice, Navaja once, and Vallejo twice. I've also put Solemn Oath Snaggle tooth and Brickstone APA through as well. (Heavy on the Pale Ales). Out of all, Navaja was my favorite through although it was quite a bit more expensive. Also having a 10% Double readily available to pour with low self control made for some problematic hangovers...:grimacing:

Yes to both. Stopped in for dinner Friday night and Trakking Light, Wooden Teeth, Gossamer, and especially Zappora were all much more enjoyable than Heroic Dose. Other than a bit of an abrupt muddled finish, Zappora is the best Nelson beer I've ever had.

Digging Alpine Rain. Nicely clean, well done lager. Wished I had picked up another 4 pk.

Agreed. I don’t drink a ton of lagers, but I loved this one. Well made and super drinkable. Finishes sweet. They also had an imperial lager, Stallion, on at Balmoral. Also crisp and refreshing.

On another note they still had blueberry Fruit Truck at Balmoral. Loved that one. Not as good as the peach, but delicious. I’ve had it a few times this past week.

@HouseofWortship they had 12 sub 6% abv beers on tonight at HA Balmoral. Thought those may be in your wheelhouse.

Agree on Alpine Rain. Had it in the tap room and it was really great, had to grab a four pack.
