Number 2 is another variant of Peche Mortel but brewed with Termopilas coffee giving it a much smoother more mellow nutty flavor. Really enjoying this pack.

After 9.6 inches of snow yesterday, a sunny day is most welcome. Forgot I even had this.


Picking up mostly anise and black licorice, with a warming sensation long after the swallow. Musty aroma and small particles suspended in the top third of the beer, just hanging there and not settling to the bottom. Not a style I usually drink or would buy, but my daughter, who works at a bar that sports 30 taps and various bottles, gave it to me 3 years ago.

Ran a half marathon yesterday. Hit up a general store off the Crozet VA exit on Friday for post race libations:

Wicked Weed Freak of Nature DIPA (1st taste of wicked weed... I'm kinda meh about it, but I got some Pernicious too)

 

A generous buddy of mine gave me this and I have to say this is delicious. Fascination Street ipa from Foreign Objects. Very smooth. Slick feel. Dank pineapple. Whoa, this is seriously good.

My kids had 2 friends for a sleepover, so after a night of watching 4 boys, the oldest 10, backyard hockey, endless pizza slices, kung fu movie reenactments, video games, and root beer until 2am, I wake up to reward myself with one of my stashed KBS. Being a dad can sometimes be a way of being a kid again and partaking in the sacred ritual of having simple, wonderful, fun. I toast to that.
