    Elephant from Carlsberg... a premium lager. 7,2%. This is not extraordinary but considering the price I am not going to be mean.

    I am drinking coffee now, because I have to go to work !

    The last beverage I had last night, before I passed out on the couch was a 16 oz. can of Champagne Velvet. My wife & I were watching an old b&w sci-fi movie called 'Them' about giant ants. I took a picture of the can, before I crashed, because it struck me as kind of funny.


    Yes I understand what they mean... but don't you think they could have chosen better wording ?

    I need to try that again, this was a staple in my youth when I only wanted to get drunk, and I’ve looked down on it since.

    Very nice smoked Porter with a well-balanced smokiness that is not too overbearing and leaves ample room for notes of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee and licorice.

    It’s one of these cheap buzz beer and you won’t be impressed. Overall Carlsberg products are not awful but you know after we have had some of the best beers on earth... everything else seem just dull.

    [​IMG] Maybe my favorite lead off hitter, Java The Nut a Coffee Coconut Porter 6.5% and just so amazingly tasty. Just a kiss of coconut, with a nice dry strong coffee presence, wow!

    Bell's Oberon was released yesterday to usher in spring/summer but from the looks of this morning I find Samuel Adams Cold Snap white ale to be more suiting of the current weather.Cheers.

    Good morning or good afternoon BAs! Freezing rain this morning here in NW PA - kind of puts the grocery shopping on hold. Today's New Breakfast Beer:



    A decent doppelbock but somewhat of a letdown as I was expecting a greater rye presence.

    Later in the afternoon and got my weekly errands done, hence will enjoy Chouffe and some cheese. Tomme des Pyrénées. Belgium can into beer, France can into cheese.

    @Shanex Was going to say something similar. My friends and I would “upgrade” to Elephant occasionally back in my malt liquor drinking college days and haven’t had it since.

    Something substantial this morning . . .

    Beautiful clear ruby red color with tan cap.

    Aroma of deep toffee and dark bread.

    Taste is the scent writ large. Flavors develop more mid palate forward showing a denser toffee leaning toward the caramelized stage backed by a fullness of dark malt without roasted malt bitterness. Also something almost raisiny like an old sweet sherry that hasn't lost it's luster.

    Full, almost chewy texture.

    A rich, bold brew in a tweed jacket with an amiable expression.

    Really good stuff from my local brewery. Warming up this thing smells like a bacon Mcgriddle and I mean that in the best way possible.
