@Prep8611 nice pics of the grain hops. Don't know how many lbs of hops I got but over 10 at this point.

2 week resurrection -- thankfully, I think the oldest I've gone on BA so far.

Just cleaned and tested my new oxygenation wand/stone. 0.5 micron jobber with an air filter that seems to work well with the Bernzomatic oxygen tank. Very excited to finally give yeast the O2 it needs.

Sweet. Got one of those off MoreBeer myself. One tip of advice. Make sure the stone is sucurely tightened to the wand. I’ve almost made that mistake. Would’ve been a pain to fish out the stone and the little plastic washer out of the trub and dry hops after fermentation.

Nice to look at for sure. Unitank makes everything cold side effortless, but my big mouth bubbler makes equally good beer.

This sight glass should let me go straight from flame out to FV, Chill with FTSS and then dump the cold break before pitching.

How does a sight glass benefit you in the ways you describe? Am I missing something here? lol

Not really...as useless as a degree from a recent diploma mill

I hope with a butterfly in between the conical and glass and a cap on the bottom I can collect the break material, close the butterfly up top and take off the glass. Discard and reattach with minimal waste. Follow the same process for yeast harvesting later.

Thinking about getting one of those anvil stainless fermenters when I get my personal time payout next month.... anyone have any experience with these. Best way to keep valves clean short of taking it apart every time?

I have no experience with it, but given the ball valve drain, I’d personally disassemble it to clean it. Ball valves can be tough to clean thoroughly.

Do SS use ball valves as well?

i don't have the anvil, but i have the SS brew bucket. I clean the valves every time, they're really easy to take apart and clean, i assume the anvil bucket is similar.

The SS Brew Bucket uses a ball valve as mentioned, while their chronical series only have TC butterfly valves, which are easy to clean.

ahhaha not bad, not bad at all.

I have a fairly off balanced one in a cheap amazon cigar box that I need to try out. Spent all the money and time putting one together last year and haven't used it yet. Been using Imperial Organic 200b cell pitches and the last time I tried to do a starter I ended up at the minute clinic with a deep partial thickness burn, so...perhaps it will stay unused.

Been lurking on here for a while and its been a few years since I've brewed but slowly getting set up to get back into it. Started with buying the Tramontina for a kegerator/fermentor build. In hindsight should have bought a tower that already came with SS shanks, but I'll be replacing the ones in this kit and putting my Perlick SS faucets on.

At the moment, just holding keeping my cans cold.
