    Absolutely agree.

Also, bearing in mind there was a "Constants" and the "Variants" line where plenty of those were regularly recurring beers for the most part, you can spend the entire week drinking ONLY the Cuzkolsh and have some cool swag to show for it. That was actually my original plan, get there with GF, get the kolsch, get out of there fast.

But, the line management was so good (until Blue Hawaiian sent everyone apeshit) that I was forced to try a lot of beer. Bonus points for me!

I'm not from SoCal, but had a chance to make to WoL on Saturday and gotta say I loved the event and the chance to try the beers I wouldn't ever see elsewhere. Loved all the stouts that I tasted, though Space Trace preview was probably my favorite, even over FO17. Really glad I decided to try some of the "weirder" stuff too: Strawberry Rhubarb Berliner, that green Kolsch, and Clever Girl IPA blend, among others. The entire thing seemed really well run and organized. Really glad I made it.

Pretty impressed with how awesome Week of Logic was this year. Obviously a lot of preparation and work went into it, and the amount of beer available this year was nuts.

What was the difference this year compared to past WOL?

The big difference is that everything was outside. Last year pouring stations were inside with some minimal inside drinking areas as well. Much better this year having everything outside - way roomier! And as I recall, there was only a specific beer you could purchase that would qualify for the stamp ... this year it was any beer, which I think helped keep lines balanced.

I cannot provide an accurate comparison since I have only been to two of them, but this one was so well put together I have a difficult time not giving BL props. Parking maps, lines for beer, merch, bottle pickups all separated so as not to blend together (although the first day they had to change up a line....but they came damn quick and shifted me and my group so that it wouldn't cause an issue). For a beer event at a rather high-hyped brewery....it was smooth.

Beer in my hand in 15minutes after I figured out what line I got into (group decided to divide and conquer at the beginning), secured a table, entertained by some dogs, security was nice.

My only two complaints were that I did not see the exit location quickly and went to the wrong end to leave...so I was "forced" to get another beer on my way to the other side of the lot to exit....oh the humanity. I was also stared at by an employee when I said I did not want nor need the field journal. As much as I wanted to be a dick and take one away....a local would cruise by later in hopes that one would still be available. Didn't want to take that away from someone that frequents the brewery more than 4-5x/year.

This is my 3rd week of logic and by far the best one. The biggest difference is it had more beer options than the last few years and less lines than the last few years. It seemed like stasis and experimental beers lasted most of the day with a good amount lasting more than a day. Besides the last day I didn't wait for more than 10 minutes for a beer with most beers I waited about 2 minutes or not at all. Don't think it's possible to run a smoother and more hassle free event. Cheers Bottle Logic.

I hope they do something similar when they have big releases like FO. Last year that release was awful, but if they could do something similar it would be awesome.

What was so awful last year on the FO release ?

I was there on the opening weekend and the following weekend. The only nuisance was that it was hot and stuffy . That was the price for NC and FO! If there was anything else, I've forgotten.

I waited 45 mins+ to get bottles and about that for a pour (even the back bar line was to the regular bar area. If I could have got a pour and then waited in line with the pour, then it wouldn't have been that bad, but they didn't allow alcohol in the back area (which I get due to needing permits). And yes, hot, stuffy, and crowded didn't help. They would only need to do this on the day of the release, and not the entire pick up window.

organizing a week of logic level event took a long time. while it may get busy on pick ups, the way they set up the different stations is pretty good at helping spread the crowds for pick up week windows.

Key is to not go during peak craziness.

Last you could buy any beer and get a stamp, same as this year.

That's been my experience for every release and WoL. No amount of planning can mitigate an enormous crowd when you have limited space. Schedule permitting go during non-peak days/hours and you'll avoid most lines and the nonsense. I can't remember the last time I waited more than 15 minutes for a stasis beer and I attended every WoL day and Stasis release last year.

Also let’s not forget about the public water that was just under boiling. Hot AF inside and the only water available to sober up was hot AF. Very poorly run. I’m surprised they were not sued ( because the alcohol was strong high in those beers and hey didn’t offer a suitable way to sober up. If anyone got in a crash they could have claimed liability) I only play a lawyer on television but I’m pretty sure I could pass the (liquor) bar anytime i wanted.

IANAL but im pretty sure thats not how the law works even in the land of frivolous torts. there isnt a temperature requirement on the water you offer to guests afaik lmfao the spoiled neckbears will never cease to impress me with how long into life they need their diapers changed for them

Popped open a StF '17 this evening and damn such a great beer. I know the label indicates to drink fresh but I'm very happy to have 4 more in the cellar. The '18 preview was also excellent at WoL, can't wait for the release :grinning:

The big thing about liable law is “over serving”. If you offer people unlimited alcohol (until you seek drunk, like all bars do) but you don’t offer them a way to dissipate that affect (one of the reasons all breweries nowadays have food trucks) you put yourself at risk of being liable. I’m not joking, huge error Bottle Logic made last year.

With some quick research, California has limited “dram shop” laws so places are hardly ever held liable. I am wrong.

We were there about 30 minutes before opening, but I was utterly disappointed in how the line was dealt with. We didn't get any FO and NC until maybe about 40 minutes, and that was because we were near the roll-up. Everyone that turned the corner behind us got their FO and NC at the back bar in 10 minutes at first. A friend of mine got two pours while we were still waiting for our first.

It was a rare misstep, but it was disappointing. There was also less room as the year went on, with back bar and then the crowler station opening up. Less room means more crowding, obviously.

That being said, we brought our own water bottles full of ice cold, high quality H2O, and the beer was great. It was still a nice day out with my girlfriend, and we even ended up with a keg to sit at once the flurry died a little so we could play Breath of the Wild.

I still respectfully, disagree. But I'm comparing to previous releases at Bottle Logic, and those were "worse" than FO/NC. Days like GS b1 or the last day of WOL 2016 -
Even then, it was awful only because I went there at peak times(opening)

Clearly they have been improving, logistically \ efficiently.

On draft at the release, I preferred NC >> FO b3. I opened up a b3 recently, and it was better than it was fresh.

BTW, has anyone opened up NC or FO b2 recently? Thinking of opening up another soon.

yes! I figure picking up my RFI bottles on this sunday will be quiet. Especially since there will be no RFI on draft ):
