What beer are you drinking now? #1986

Good day (Morning, afternoon, prevening, evening, night - your choice) BAs! Foggy as London in an old B&W movie here. Today's New Breakfast Beer:



A decent Brettanomyces saison.

 

Thursday is a good day for a Yellow Rose IPA (Lone Pint, Austin), ABV 6.80%, IBU 62. The taste is clean, juicy and refreshing, somewhat sweet, grapefruit, and some mango, pineapple, perhaps blueberry, and pine. The aroma is piney and floral. It is a great Mosaic IPA.

Great song choice, but I'd personally recommend this for that beer:

Continuing with a theme here . . .



Clear, deep amber gold with good white cap and lasting lacing.

Aroma of dark, resinous hops with a decidedly citrus bent, essential oils of grapefruit and lemon, I also get some oak bark as well, not wood, bark, White Oak to be specific.

Taste is both malt and hops with malt occupying the front half of the palate and hops the back all going on simultaneously. This is really good. With DIPAs I'm looking for more than just twice the hops (in whatever combination or when added) but also a substantial amount of malt flavor as well. For me this is the distinction over IPAs, even strong ones, that place so much emphasis on hops that malt recedes into the background. Full flavors, complex, well defined, yet bringing the parts together in an harmonious whole that is seamless all the way into the aftertaste.

 

My choice was for the "An American Amber" located at the bottom of your bottle. Cheers!

 

Lone Pint is in Magnolia, Texas. Magnolia is a good drive from Austin and is much closer to Houston.

Oxbow brewing Punch Brook farmhouse lager with Raspberries. Probably one of the best Oxbow beers I’ve had.
