For the past 3 or 4 years I have ran several Superbowl Square BIFs. Each square costs 44oz of quality beer and participants can select up to 2 squares. For the first time in my history of running this BIF I have unfortunately post to the Bad Trader thread.

@Avelasquez80 has still yet to ship his box. With the Superbowl being the first Sunday in February, I set the deadline to get boxes out for the last day of February. And ask that if people can not get the box out by then that they at least be open with their communication and post updates throughout.

    Communication from @Avelasquez80

3/7/18: "Will work on getting mine out soon. I've been out of town for work since 1/12 but will definitely get a box out this week or over the weekend."

3/17/18: "I'll be getting these boxes out this weekend. I know its not an excuse man, but I work 14 hour days, 30 days straight with only 2 days off in between. But I hear you! I'll get em out man. Cheers!"

3/19/18: "Yeah its rough, but I'm good. and true, I am going back home this thursday for a day and returning to Mass Friday, but I will get both boxes out and send tracking info accordingly."

That was the last I heard from him, even after warning him that the next step was a Bad Trader thread this past Monday.

Looks like he's had time to go to Treehouse and post that beer for trade. I hope this works out. The guy is in my PGA BIF.

Yeah, I'm the commish of this league, and am still awaiting on an update from @Avelasquez80 for his 22 oz box from the first segment of the year for us. That ended mid-February, and we set a mid-March shipping deadline. No box and no updates to this point for us either.

Not this guy’s first rodeo. November 10th 2015 I won a round of the NFL 33 BIF, and @Avelasquez80 was assigned as one of my senders.

Box was finally received February 20th, 2016 - over 3 months later despite multiple reminders.

Perpetual late shipping has him on my personal “Bad BIF’er” list, and I’ll definitely not participate in any BIF he’s joined in the future.

I know it won't make up for the delayed shipping, and I sincerely apologize again!! I'm dropping off the super bowl boxes today. I communicated this to @Coorsy, that due to my work schedule of working 12 plus hours, 21+ days without days off in between, that I would do my best to get these boxes out. I am in no way trying to stiff anyone! It falls on me for not making the time and for joining a bif when I knew I might have the difficulty of getting my boxes out, but I still joined anyway because its beer and I enjoy joining with you guys. So again, I sincerely apologize to the winners and I will be dropping off today. I have always tried to get boxes out in a timely manner, and I hate that I have landed on this side of the beer trading fun, but only thing I can do to make it right is get the boxes out as promised. I digress, hopefully you guys accept my apology and we move on from this. I'll reach out to the winner's of the SB pot and provide the tracking, and @mj0126, I am having my buddy ship goods from TX since I am here in Mass, I don't want to get @Piels25 anything that he can easily pick up. That box will be shipped by the weekend and I will provide the tracking for that as well. Once again, my apologies guys and this won't happen again. Cheers!

@Avelasquez80 some friendly advice: get out of the BIF/trading game.

Your apology would be just fine with me and, I suspect, most others if a horribly busy life truly got in the way. But from the above posts, it sounds like you're a habitual late shipper. If life is happening to you regularly such that you can't keep up with your obligations, then step back & drink local until you can get yourself together.

Thanks for coming in and owning up to your shipping shortfalls, @Avelasquez80.

With that said, it appears that you were trading TH for Westbrook Cake (or variants) right around the super bowl, receiving feedback from @CUBANICHI on February 8th showing the successful trade. Assuming that feedback was left in a timely manner, one might assume that you shipped on Monday, February 5th (the day after the Super Bowl) - since MA to FL is 3-days via FedEx or UPS.

So clearly you had time to ship beer in early February, but not the beer you owed for the BIF - just the beer you needed to send out to land your Westbrook Cake.

You're probably right. Although, I have made it a point to get my boxes out in a timely manner, these last few haven't' been as smooth. I know it's not fair for the receivers and I do feel bad for that. I would never dodge anyone on here if I owed some boxes. Which is why I responded to this post immediately. Thanks for the message though, man.

You're right. Like I said, I'm not going to play victim nor will I make any additional excuses. My boxes are going out today and I apologize for the delay.

Are you planning to ship some quality extras to go with your belated apology?

I've always made it a point to ship quality beer, with the exception of when I first got into the game of biffing/trading. (@RuckIt 2015 bad box) But yes, I have packed some good brews from here in MA and will add to them. It's too bad that I haven't been home in a while, since I was unable to go back last week, otherwise I would send some great TX brews. Which I will probably end up doing anyway when I go in April.

I hate to pile on, because at least you had the courage to show up and explain your side, but it appears that if you're receiving beer that you've got plenty of time to ship out, but if it is just to pay off BIFs you don't. Maybe stick to trading and leave the BIF/Sports side of things.

An excellent recommendation, and probably a good idea, but...

I can't tell you how refreshing it is to see (for a change) a "perpetrator" on one of these BT threads actually owning up to his mistakes, humbly apologizing for them, and making (what sounds like at least) a very sincere promise to try to change his ways and get the beer he's obligated to send out the door and into the mail ASAP. No nasty comments about how unfair this all is, how everyone's ganging up on him, and what bunch of assholes and losers everyone is on the BT thread.

I literally did a double take when I read his responses in this thread.

I completely agree, and even think people would take more compassion if people came here and explained themselves.

ALSO it should be noted that this guy had issues back in 2015 so it isn't his first rodeo. It is clearly a pattern.

The "Aw, shucks" apology does work if it is the first time and not something dating back three years, and not for someone who completed a trade while a BIF was left hanging. How is that refreshing?

Any update here, @Avelasquez80? As I mentioned in our BM previously, I need this box to be delivered by this Friday, April 6th, otherwise we need to wait another two weeks as I'm moving/traveling.

Though I live in MA, I have limited access to Treehouse if that is easier for you to ship as it appears you have better access than me. Thanks.

FedEx says box from @Avelasquez80 should arrive on 4/5. I'm on vacation so no haul post till after 4/8. Cheers guys!

Currently on vacation in Boston, about twenty miles from where he shipped from!
