Good morning BA, have a great Friday! Start of an extended holiday weekend. I don't have much planned this time around. Need to pack up my NBS BIF box and ship it out this weekend. Got everything ready to go.

2 year revisit. This is fantastic! Aromas and flavors of huge grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, mango, apricot, papaya, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pepper, and pine hops; with moderate caramel, honey, brown sugar, toffee, biscuit malt sweetness; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Good sized pine, citrus rind, herbal, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; balanced creamy/bready malts and sticky/resinous/rindy hops in the mouthfeel; a touch slick and syrupy. Light-moderate increasing resin dryness, no hop astringency. Light-moderate increasing warmth and a touch of booziness. This might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I thought they nailed it for a massive sized DIPA. Extremely similar to DFH 120 Minute, but a bit more tropical(think this has Mango/Oranges like the base beer). Super juicy/dank hops, balanced malts, not overly sweet or cloying. Would buy again to cellar, a bit hot now as fresh; but I am confident it will age just the same as 120 Minute. I felt the 3 year old vintages were the best.

This was amazing! Aromas and flavors of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, nutty dark roasted coffee, caramel, maple syrup, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, bourbon, toasted oak, and dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of coconut, molasses, and smoke. A little muted on aromas. Light roast bitterness and bourbon/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and full body; with a fantastic smooth, creamy, silky, velvety, and rich mouthfeel. Slight chalky roast, oak tannins, and dryness. Minimal warming 11.7%, zero barrel booze. Perfectly balanced between barrel, malt, and chocolate/coffee flavors. This has some noticeable differences from KBS, but I don't prefer one over the other. Less coconut from barrels, added sappy maple syrup flavors, and maybe a bit more bourbon/oak tannin dryness. Glad I have another bomber. Definitely worth the price, but glad I didn't try to hoard cases like some people did.

Weather won't permit a stream side visit this morning but at least I can think about it . . .

Beautiful bright gold color with white cap.

Aroma of mild malt and floral, spicy hops.

Taste is a good deal richer and deeper that the scent. A malt forward fullness backed up by the hops. The malt is lightly sweet and the hops (18 IBU) are subtle, simple flavors that come together well. Finishes malty and slightly sweet.

    Medium texture with balancing carbonation.

A super clean, malty rounded lager that I could pair with almost any style of food. If I lived in the distribution area I would have this often.

Dog walk over, a lovely 68 out this morning. Coffee time:

We’re going to take it easy today...maybe a trip to the barber; otherwise, unpack and do laundry. Have a great Good Friday!

Bell's Oberon ale. I have to make sure to pour out the whole can before taking a sip. The "pulp" is at the bottom and gives this beer a different profile than just pouring what is on top.Cheers![IMG]
It's Friday so I have to annoy the neighbors

    Happy Friday, everyone!

Soon, very soon in fact, I'll be enjoying one of my favorite beers in anywhere, let alone in Greater Portland, let alone in Maine, let alone in New England ...

The beer? Well, that would be Austin Street Brewery's flagship concoction, Patina Pale Ale. Delectable.

Excellent APA! Aromas and flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, mango, papaya, lemon/orange zest, and light pepper/pine hops; with some wheat, cracker, white bready malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hops earthiness. Moderate pine, herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and light-medium bodied; sticky hops with light grainy wheat and resins in the mouthfeel. Moderately crisp and increasingly drying after the finish; no hop astringency. Very bright and dank on hop qualities; and overall quite refreshing. Zero complaints. Need to get this more often. Same with the new Sumpin Easy. Wish they weren't exclusively in 12 packs.

Awesome NEIPA! Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, lemon, grapefruit, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berry, citrus peel/rind, pepper, and pine hops; with balanced cracker, biscuit dough malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; balanced creamy/bready oats and sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Light resins/rinds, light-moderate increasing bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Refreshingly drinkable, never aggressive, 7%. Galaxy and Denali hops. Awesome balance of juicy, dank, and vibrant hop complexity; nice bready malt backbone, with minimal residual sweetness. Will definitely pick this up again. Spot on stuff.
