Surprised this thread hasn't already been made, but alas, here we are...

Found a few cases of this yesterday in Columbus, OH. Ended up enjoying two bottles of it last night. Wasn't until I opened the second one that I decided to check the Julian date. (So annoyed that I have to search google for what the 83rd day in 2018 is). To my surprise, this beer was bottled 5 days prior.

Last year's thread talked a lot about how syrup-y and dank it is, and this year is no different. Still delicious and worth every penny. I'd recommend buying this the second you find it offered at your local shop!

    @Bisco42
Lucky you...I do love me some Waldo's and would love to have some as fresh as you've found. However, I thought distributors had to wait until April 20th to release it to retailers!?

That would make sense given the 'gimmick', but after doing a little more research, it seems like there are dozens of locations here in Columbus who have received their allotment. Distributors don't care, and they play by their own rules. (Especially Superior Beverage Group here in Columbus).

Even though it seems that they made the right decision and got this beer out as soon as they got it. I'm still in shock it is this fresh.

Waldo's is excellent. I'm not far from Lagunitas Chicago and bought a few cases there last year. Will be stocking up again! Lagunitas isn't even tapping until 4/20.

Between this, kbs, parabola, and the endless local crud that piles up sporadically, ill be having a good time the next week or two...

I'd honestly be happy to just smell someone's empty bottle. Waaaaaaaaay too sweet for me, but that nose is amazing.

I agree 100% here: waaaaaaaaaaay too sweet for me too.

I suppose some folks enjoy "syrupy" but I personally will save that aspect for my waffles!

    Cheers!

Among popular beers, Waldo's is probably my most hated. Really disagrees with my taste buds. Yuck.

Big, boozy triples aren't for everyone. No worries.

I didn't note any excessive sweetness in my review of the 2016. Has it changed from then?

I love this beer but a six pack per year is about all I can chew on.

Apparently my go to distributor has kegs of this, but not cases yet.

Great beer as always. Is it just me or is this vintage appear a lot cloudier than normal? I remember it being pretty clear but this is unfiltered and very hazy. Either way this is a killer TIPA.

The pics on Untappd do appear cloudier than last year's. Thought last year's was syrupy, but will get at least one sixer this year.

I really love this year's Hopslam and Hi-Res, so I'm really eager to try this year's Waldo's and see how it compares.

I picked up a sixer last night at an average gas station in the middle of nowhere, Ohio. Unbelievable stuff IMO and for $11.99...WOW!! Will be going back today to buy whatever is left.

Grabbed a 6er of last year's and only had one. Hoping this year's is much better.

Interested to hear all the reservations about last year's…I liked it.

I haven't been drinking much Lagunitas because I never see fresh beer from them anymore, but B10K was absolutely delicious so I'm hoping they can still make their special releases taste special.
