19.2 would be a good number. I'm particular to drinking beer in Imperial Pints myself.

Got lucky and found a 12. Beer store only got 2 12 pks :astonished:. As mentioned you could pound these all day. Very smooth, mild bitterness and balanced flavors. I would almost call this a hell-ner. The aroma is a mild helles with a pils flavor.

Is there a realease ETA for this? Still one of my absolute favorites. Buy it every year since the original release. Also had DDH resin last night and it was phenomenal.

Would totally join if I could man. But I'm in the last week and half of a huge thesis so I can't afford to be hitting pubs this week afford all.

what if your thesis is on the study of the effect of beer drinking and procrastination on the quality of a written thesis?

I hope it's not bitter like a Pils. Camden (from UK) has a Helles they market as between a Helles and a Pils and I thought it was terrible.

GC confirmed it ended up around 16 IBU post packaging, so you're safe with ours. A Helles should not be bitter at all IMHO....just have enough to balance it out, but really should be malt-driven.

Oh yah, Camden Fresh as Helles is a massive dissapointment. Not only is it not really a helles, it's also not a good beer.

I think it's a tasty beer which leans toward a dry pilsner (rather than a fuller bodied helles) with a bright German hop flavor and aroma to it but with a milder bitterness than is typical for a pilsner (which I'm guessing is why it is advertised as a combination of pilsner and helles). It's very clean and tastes well made imo. What to you is bad about it?

Maybe I had a bad batch at the pub I went to but the one I had at it just wasn't good. It was about a month ago so I can't for the life of me remember the tasting notes, but it was repulsive. I'll have to try it again snd get back to you.

I agree that it was repulsive, I bought a 6 pack and actually drain poured a few. Way too hoppy and dry for something with HELLES in big block letters on the label. Why bother labelling something a certain way if it's not remotely respectful of the style?

Can you provide more details on what constitutes the aspect of "repulsive"? Is the fact that the beer was a bit too hoppy (bitter I presume) and dry equate to "repulsive" for you?

    Cheers!

Just found out where this is available near me. Gonna go pick some up this afternoon.

@Sixpoint: any fear that the 12-pack might move slower than normal given "craft" drinkers' famous propensity to avoid purchasing larger amounts of one beer?

I would be curious @ecpho if you had this beer before or AFTER Camden brewery was acquired by AB-InBev. Perhaps there was a change in the formulation after the buyout.

Maybe some, but at $1.40 per can (equivalent to $8.40 per six-pack) for a world-class Helles, there is outstanding value being delivered here for a highly drinkable beer that is genuinely committed to the authenticity of the style - something that is very hard to find nowadays.

Any non hoppy style that is overhopped or incongruous hops are used or the malt is way off base - can be repulsive to me. Even in the name of "innovation".
