It took moving to the East Coast for me to find this out. Even when I lived back East, I never stopped being a fan of BD, and always told everyone I met just how fantastic it was. I must have been sufficiently convincing, such that several places in SEPA tried to order it (a limited amount of HOTD stuff is distributed in SEPA). I think finally 2 or 3 kegs were picked up by the distributor. The only problem? No place was able to tap them, just for the reason you mentioned.

Anyway, I assume CAH must have somehow been able to find some couplers, though that wasn't what I heard. Just that they were finally able to get Alan to sell them kegs at long last.

THIS. And, an NEIPA is a style of beer just like any other style of beer. @derftron, yes I am seeing major differences within the style. The same differences I see between different IPAs, Pales, etc. If anything the NEIPA style is more variable and less defined than many styles which don't allow for variations in malt or hop profiles.

I'm not saying this as a defender of the style, what's important is if it tastes good. There are good NEIPAs and bad ones, just like any other style. Some brewers get it and some don't. Some drinkers taste it and some don't.

Bubbles bad. Archaic keg couplers good.

Too lazy to read through 6 pages...
Hazy ipas (neipa) are not just unfiltered ipa. I like a good hazy, but am tired of buying overpriced unfiltered that says hazy on the can, lol. Everyone is trying to jump on the wagon, but not a lot do it well... while some just say it to sell some cans...

#CynicalComment Do you know this? I would think most craft brewers really care about their craft and are doing their best with varying levels of success.

Another thing they are not is "hazy". You can still see through a truly hazy beer. These popular non-IPas are full on murky. But, I agree with you on this; if brewers were to label these beers "Murky Non-IPAs" they likely wouldn't have folks lining up for them.

I agree that we’ve gone past hazy. These beers have the appearance of a mango Lhasi.

Speaking of Hazy IPAs, it appears the new batch of Field of Greens named, "Desdemona" has dropped....

I thought this batch was so good! Void of practically all harsh bitterness. Will be grabbing a couple more 4-packs asap.

While purchasing Fort George's Fields of Green DESDEMONA, grab a 4-pack of Modern Times FRAXOS!

Fraxos was good, cheaper than I've seen for 4 packs around too

Oh, that's a good benchmark. I had an excellent mango Llhasi yesterday (in Cortez CO). I would prefer it to at least some of the murky IPAs.

I had a can of Fields of Green - Desdemona last night.

Looks like pineapple juice. Tastes like grapefruit juice. The complete lack of bitterness is a damn shame that leaves me with a small amount of buyer's remorse for picking up a whole 4-pack.

Tried a fresh bottle of pillowfist from Old Town yesterday and was pretty impressed by it. Insanely soft mouthfeel and great hop flavor

The temperature-sensitive ink on the Fields of Green cans is pretty neat, though.

It changes from light yellow-green at room temperature to a darker green as it gets cold.

Yes, the same gimmick as the blue mountains on Coors Light cans.

But with better beer. And green.

That's the same problem I have with the Revision beers, which I otherwise think are pretty tasty.

But it seems like that's what most people want these days. The Revision stuff reminds me very much of the APA's, IPA's and DIPA's I've had from Treehouse, which probably explains why their IPA's/DIPA's are so popular. Doesn't work for me (but then I'm not the biggest Treehouse fan either), but I guess that's probably irrelevant as far as the folks at Revision (and Ft. George) are concerned.

Is that new with the Desdemona batch? Didn't notice that with the first two.

I don't know. These are the first Fields of Green cans I've brought home. I didn't know the ink was going to change color until I noticed that the empty can in the recycling bin was more yellow than green this morning.
