Good morning BA, have a great Monday! Got a bonus day off of work, so I am going to clean up the apartment a bit and reorganize some things. Still need to ship out my BIF box, so I definitely need to do that today.

Heard some infection reports about this, so I am going to open it. This is fantastic! Definitely better than the infected XIX I had last year. Amazing lasting head retention and thick soapy lacing on the glass. Flavors of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, toffee, bourbon, coconut, toasted oak, and dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of molasses, licorice, smoke, charcoal, dark fruit, and herbal/peppery/piney hop. Light-moderate herbal/spicy hop and roast/char bitterness; some bourbon/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; very creamy/silky/bready malt mouthfeel; some sticky hops, chalky roast, and bourbon/oak tannins. Lightly increasing bitter/tannic dryness. Very smooth, mildly warming ABV, no barrel booze. I still prefer the base beer, but this lives up to what I remember in 2014 when I actually reviewed it. Really great balance of the base stout and bourbon barrel integration. Still a fair amount of hop presence left after the barrel aging, but not as aggressive as the base beer.

This years batch is tasting amazing! Aromas and flavors of big caramel, brown sugar, chocolate, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, toffee, bourbon, toasted oak, dark/brown bread, and biscuit; with light notes of dark fruit, smoke, char, and herbal/spicy hops. Light roast/char/herbal hop bitterness, and bourbon/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and medium-full body; very creamy/bready malt mouthfeel; light slickness, sticky hops, chalky roast, and bourbon/oak tannins. Lightly increasing bitter/tannin drying. Very smooth, minimal warming 12.5%, zero barrel booze. Feels a bit more roasty this time around, but same great balance and integration of barrels and malt complexity. Need to find some more Lil Griz cans.

I hate you! I’ve been trying to get one of these for many months now with no luck. Of course being on the other side of the world doesn’t help...

    Enjoy friend!

Sierra Nevada "hazy little thing" IPA. Very similar to 12th of never. Lacing and smooth mellow body on this makes it a pleasure to drink. Cheers Ba![IMG]

Very nice coffee stout, complex and well-balanced. A lot of the flavour, especially the spices, seem to be coming from the high-quality coffee used, rather than the hop/malt bill.

Good (Insert time range of day here) BAs! Got up to snow covering the cars and vegetation but
the driveway and roads are clear, so Spring may be actually coming. Today's New Breakfast Beer:

Much better than the base beer.

Active morning...our oldest dog jumped down from the bed and appears to have dislocated his toe nail. Vet appointment for later. He is resting comfortably. Coffee please!

    Have a great Monday y’all!

Hope all goes well with your pooch, Doc. Once again, it was great to be able to meet up and drink & chat with you at Green Bench, yesterday. After that, my family went to Red Mesa. The food was excellent. I had a few Negro Modelo's.. which I pretty much always order at Mexican restaurants. Maybe it's not considered primo, but it's a reliable drink that always works well with the spicy food.

This morning, same as yesterday, I am nursing another Bimini Twist (kind of flat, as I fell asleep in our hotel room last night , before I finished the can), while pondering day 3 of our Florida visit. Probably going to Tampa today ... try some beer at Cigar City.

The Mrs and my daughter are looking at wedding dresses with my sister in law, so I took the day off so Jr can enjoy his last day of spring break running errands with me, going out to lunch, and seeing a movie. But first, beer!
