i actually used that water to warm up my pours, cause imo BL pours their stouts way too cold and you gotta sit there for 30 min waiting for it warm up. worked out perfectly lol.

So, anyone know when the first Academy of Exploration e-mail will go out? I want to make sure I don't miss it!

Well, there’s a stasis release every month, usually by the second week, so within the next one or two weeks...

So what's the next release? Not really familiar with BL releases but I have a buddy in the area who can pick up for me.

Are all releases typically done on Eventbrite?

Yes, all guesses at this point. Ideally a week or two we will all know.

Last year's April was Jam the Radar but that was in February this year. Last year's February release was Ground State and Reaction State which we haven't seen in 2018 yet.

If the preview at WoL is any indication, Ground State was tasting pretty damn good. Bottles of that for April wouldn’t break my heart.

Y'all got to give them time to read the scribblings of however many people turned in their passports!

Just so you know, if you do have a buddy that can pick up for you, they better have time to actually buy the beer themselves. BL doesn’t allow proxies.

And/or having a buddy comfortable giving you their credit card and a lot of personal information when you make the purchase...

I tried Space Trace b2 in December, and then again at WOL a few weeks back. It seems ready to me at this point. I can't imagine it needing more time. Ground State still needs time, IMO. Needs more barrel still. Wouldn't be surprised to see the April release be Space Trace. But who knows?

Lol I don't assume these things. I already know. He already offered to buy the Wakefield collab but I passed. I always ask for Monkish but he said it's too hard and that BL is way easier

Space trace needs more coconut. Also the floaties in the bottle.

I just thought I would give my brief input from visiting Bottle Logic last week. I had a long list of places I hoped to get to while in Anaheim, but only made it to BL and Noble. Bottle Logic was a really nice place. I tried a bunch of different beers, and they had quite a few "fun" things leftover from WoL.

The only beer I had that really didn't do it for me was German Chocolate Cake as the coconut didn't seem to meld well with the rest of the beer. But, I really liked stuff like Starflower Seedling (one of the most interesting beers I've had), Darkstar November, Milk of the Hoppy (I'm not normally a milkshake IPA guy but that one was good), Recursion and Croatoan Carving were all exceptional beers. I was very happy to pick up my 3 bottles of Roll For Initiative as well...it would have been awesome to try that one on draft, but there was plenty of other great beer.

Heh, oddly, I thought this batch of German Chocolate Cake was rather more delicious than I remember it being. Not great still, but it worked for me.

Perhaps I should have also mentioned that I can be a bit finicky with coconut. If it's really prominent, then I probably won't like it. I tend to prefer it in a BA stout where the barrel works well with it. I've had beers like Pipeworks Coconut Jones Dog and Prairie Paradise that I couldn't finish a pour of...at least I could finish German Chocolate Cake.
